Japanese vs. North American Versions of Sailormoon: DISCLAIMER

If you learned about Fisheye from watching Sailormoon on Cartoon Network, read the following text in pink very carefully. Doing so will save both of us a lot of frustration.

  • In the original version of Sailormoon, Fisheye is MALE.

  • In the manga versions of Sailormoon, Fisheye's gender isn't definite...but based on the character's actions, Fisheye is most likely MALE.

  • In the North American dubbed version of Sailormoon (such as what's seen on Cartoon Network) as well as in several foreign-language translations of Sailormoon, Fisheye is a FEMALE.

  • This site is based ONLY on the original Japanese versions of the manga/anime, and NOT on the North American or other foreign-language versions.

Sorry for the pink. After almost 10 years, I still get the odd message of, "hey, Fisheye's a girl!"

As far as the original Sailormoon anime and the manga go, you will find that the Fisheye information contained in here is quite accurate.

If you are a North American fan, or a viewer of any version where Fisheye is female, this site will still serve you very well: wherever you see me refer to Fisheye as a "he", just mentally substitute "she" and you'll be fine.
