Mr. Rumbold has to go to a conference and in the absence, decides to appoint Mr. Grainger as temporary manager (so Mr. Grainger will get a few extra benefits after retirement). Captain Peacock and Mrs. Slocombe are not too pleased about this development. Now, the situation in the store goes to unbearable as he cracks down on lateness and impertinence, even sacking Mrs. Slocombe! But Mr. Rumbold comes back early and Mr. Rumbold finds that the tables are turned on him as they exact a little revenge on him and his executive bowler! As they are giving Mr. Grainger the cold shoulder in the canteen, Mr. Rumbold announces that the convention has been rescheduled and Mr. Grainger is back in charge. And what do you think will happen to the staff now...?
