If they did it as a how Richard met Hyacinth one off type of special it would be interesting, like if they introduced it with Patricia Routledge as an older Hyacinth writing in her memoir or something and it set of the flashback, that would be cool. Then they could set up how Onslow and Daisy ended up together and so forth...but it would depend on having absolute spot on casting. Although I could see Michelle Dockery playing a young Hyacinth perfectly to be honest.

I think that sounds like a great idea!

I watched this last night. I really enjoyed it. Had a very "old persons charm" to it like "Last of the Summer Wine".

I watched this yesterday and enjoyed it. I ethought the woman playing Hyacinth somewhat resembled a young Patricia Routledge in both appearance and speech.

I don't think many of the shows the BBC did for this were well received. I only watched AYBS? but there were quite a few done.

Wait. Which AYBS? remake are we talking about? I assumed it was the Australian one from the '80s. Have I forgotten about another remake?

Last year's one - part of the BBC Landmark Sitcom Season.
