Default "Keeping Up Appearances set to return as Young Hyacinth"

"BBC in talks to remake classic sitcom, with new version expected to chart the teenage travails of Hyacinth Bucket (sorry, Bouquet)"

Interesting. And AYBS is also being considered.

I'm always skeptical about spin offs. They rarely do well, though there are exceptions to that such as The Jeffersons, Maude, and Greg's favorite show of all time: Joanie Loves Chachi.

Hmm... I love KUA, but I don't know if I would enjoy this. If I did, it would all depend on the perfect casting and the perfect writing.

I watched Joanie Loves Chachi

I wouldn't mind seeing a young version of AYBS?

I think this project is worth a try; I just won't have high hopes. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Maybe somewhere out there, there is a sex tape with him in it that needs to be released.

If the BBC does produce an AYBS spin-off like they are planning on doing with KUA, what would you like to see? Would it feature cast members in their younger years? Would we see the alleged affair between Mrs. Slocombe and Captain Peacock? A young Mr. Grainger working as a junior? -- Such a show might be difficult given the wide age range between many of the staff members.

If they were to do a spin off of AYBS? I wish they would do another department, set in the same time period. With occasional visits by the Ladies and Gents staff, played by different actors, of course.

that would be nice instead of just the two depts. have one in Haberdashery and Costumery. As for a Young Hyacinth maybe they could get Joanne Heywood as the young hyacinth?

I'm hoping if they make a younger version of KUA that we finally find out what Hyacinth's maiden name is. Perhaps it will be "Bloom"

Joanne Heywood acted in Grace and Favor starting in 1992. Add 23 years to whatever her age was then. If she was just 18 then, but probably older, she would be 41 now.

Mixed feelings about something like this....cannot see it working as a period piece (set in the early 50s). Could see it working in the present day if casted and writen well.

Not literally, of course.
