I was watching a DVD and it was The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and i noticed that the character Sherlock had a brother - Mycroft, wasn't that the same name for Mr. Rumbold's brother in the episode - Roots?

It was indeed. Perhaps Lloyd and Croft were inferring that, just as Mycroft Holmes was the more brilliant of the two Holmes brothers, that Mycroft Rumbold was the smarter of the two Rumbold brothers. (Not that Cuthbert gave him much competition.)

Riding home from work on the bus today there was a guy eating an orange. He had the whole seat to himself.

I wondered if he ever watched the show.

At work, my cubicle is in what must be the coldest spot in the entire building. So I gave in, and purchased a space heater (a.k.a. an "electric fire").

It worked as advertised, kept me nice and toasty while I worked, and I haven't burned my cubicle down... yet.

Very nice. I too used a space heater, in spite of a gas heater being installed near the ceiling in the warehouse. I was saving the boss some bucks. Whenever I was called away I got cold. One day right out of the blue the boss said to use the gas heater. It was much nicer.

As long as you don't imitate Miss Brahms and wear earmuffs over your chest.

If you find the heater isn't enough give me a shout...I may have a bottle or 2 that fell off the back of a lorry to warm you up.

Chances are there is one person (probably a woman) who complains to the department head about the heat. I worked at a University and you wouldn't believe how often this happens. One silly bitch ruins it for everyone. Either she's too hot or too cold and the other 19 people in the office get affected by it.
