Are we talking in the sense that Miss Belfridge makes an honest man out of Steven ??

I would have loved to see an episode where the ghost of Mr. Grace comes back to haunt the manor. The workers have to discover why he has come back and what he is looking for as his "unfinished business".

Imagine the cast finding clues to some hidden treasure that Mr. Grace neglected to mention in his will. It would end up with the cast finding out that treasure isn't what they were expecting to find.

Default A Test Match

The cricket episode was classic. I always thought a test match would have been a good premise for an hour-long episode.

Milstone Manor gets invited to play a 4 day test series against India in a warmup for their UK tour over the summer. Mr. Humphries is forced to play a little spin and Mavis gets a double century as none of the cast can manage more than two overs without oxygen

A Hunting We Will Go

The cast is challenged by the locals to a hunting contest to see who can bag the most game in one day.

Can you just see Mrs. Slocombe, Mr. Humphries, and Miss Brahms trapsing through the dirty woods after game?

MMMMM_____How about so very bad weather, delaying The Queen & The Prince, {on a drive in the country} so they have to stop and spend a couple of nights at the Manor.

Face the Fire: Mr. Humphries decides he must face his fears (w/ Malcom ) and so
heads down a dark lane to meet the rough lads. He does and after some grand posturing and a faux tussle, he and Malcom come to an agreement. Over drinks at the pub,
Malcom asks Humpy (as he is called now) to help him be more of a gentlemen and in turn
Malcom will help Humpy be more manly. Conversation turns to Mavis and the two
beligerents, decide they can get along enough to be friendly and that they should share Mavis.
Of course it all falls apart when Mavis finds out what the two are suggesting.

One drink lead to another and between the conversation and the drinks, Humpy and Malcom realize that they had more in common than what they thought.
Next scene ....
Mavis gets to the manor late after caring for a sick aunt from the next village. She enters her room and turns on the lights where she discovers Humpy and Malcom in bed together ... starkers. Mavis lets out a gasp when the two sleeping lads open their eyes and Malcom looks straight at her and says "I'm Free !!!"

Just saw this old thread, but I wasn't posting when it first started...

It was never mentioned how long Yng. Mr. Grace owned Millstone Manor before he kicked the bucket. Assuming he owned it for a long time, or visited it a long time ago and then bought it later to re-kindle the memories, an interesting re-tread of a story would be:

Mrs. Slocumbe find an old diary stashed in the Manor house. In it is detailed a tryst between a young YMG and a dairygirl. When the dairygirl finds herself pregnant, YMG bolts back to the city leaving her to marry the only keen man available - Mr. Moulterd. The kind and understanding Moulterd raises the daughter as his own, not knowing the identity of the true father, and keeps the promise to never divulge his wife's indiscretion. And as the years pass, he loves Mavis so much he doesn't wish to sully her memories of her mother.

The staff, however, are in a dilemna. Do they tell Mavis the truth? Doing so would make her the rightful heir to the remaining Grace fortune. It could put them out on the street! Rumbold and Peacock vote to keep the diary a secret. Miss Brahms doesn't want to loose the free room and board. Mrs. Slocumbe can't get over the idea that Mavis is truly of a higher station.

But motivated in a spirit of justice after seeing Mavis so poorly treated by Miss Lovelock, they elect Mr. Humphries to break the news to Mavis. After a long and humorous discussion out in the barn where Mr. Humphries fails to convince Mavis of the impossible sounding truth, he gives up. After he walks away, a tender-hearted Morris sets her down and confirms the truth.

"You've been fair farmhand, me girl! But you ain't really me girl. I loved you as I love ol' Daisy here." (meaning the cow) "But 'tis time you left me and claimed yer own. You're a Lady now..." he says waliking away in tears.

Does she leave her Moulterd life behind? Does she turn the staff out? Does she become Lady of the Manor? Her secret is out, life can't go back to normal. The staff waits on pins and needles.

Later that night in bed, she and Mr. Humphries... write a new last page in the diary. It is in the form of a confession by Mrs. Moulterd claiming the previous pages were a fictional story written to pass the time. The next morning all is back to normal. Mr. Moulterd however knows the truth, and in another private moment asks her why she passed up her chance to move up in the world. She replies...

"You may not be my farther, but you're me da'. I'd never leave you! Now get back to work or I'll give you da strap!"

i would have liked to seen Mr. Humphries have a back bone and have Mavis's ex-boyfriend have the police arrest him for sending him threatening notes and breaking the window at Milstone Manor. and also making them face to face as well?
