Got the DVD and love the show since I guess I prefer the country over the city.

The PBS station here airs it once in awhile too which is a neat bonus!

I avoided watching AYBSA, because I figured spinoffs are nowhere as good as the original. Boy was I wrong. Loved the show and wish there was more.

I watched G&F when it first aired on the BBC and taped them all. Those were the days.

I actually thought AfterMash was okay - there is a lot worse out there!

I view them all as a single series. I watch them in order, AYBS, Best Of, G&F (twice).

It's been a while since I've watched this show, but I've watched a few episodes recently. I have to say that I really enjoyed them! I have developed a new appreciation for this show.

Now that youv'e seen G&F, even though you know it will never happen, do you sometimes expect during any canteen scene on the original to see Mr. Moulterd walk in and say "Sorry to barge in while you got your snouts in the trough"

I did the same and glad I did. It's a delightful, lighthearted, and funny show. And, as has been said, using the past in the store as a back drop, the new setting just opened up many new and interesting situations.

Wish it would have gone on for several more series!

I agree. They could have gotten more out of the show, though it did look like they were headed down the Mr. Humphries - Mavis story line too heavily; that would have just been wrong.
