My vote always goes to Mr. Humphries.

I think it's because he such a likeable chap. You'd want him as your friend.

Lucas will always be my favorite character. When the show was built around him, it was at it's best !!!! He was the youth against the establishment.

Miss Brahms

Mine will always be Miss Brahms.

i like her because she is hard working and not afraid to stand up to anyone including the men.

I voted for Grainger -- no matter what he does or what he says, this guy ALWAYS makes me die laughing 8) Sure, Humphries and Slocombe get all the attention but I really think that Grainger added his own "goodness" to many, if not all, the episodes he was in.

I mean, who could forget his irritable bowels?! :D There was one episode (can't remember the name of it) where Grainger was only in, like, ten minutes of it because he had to keep running to the gents and he STILL made me laugh the hardest. :P

The eppy was "Cold Store" and it was a funny one !!!! Gotta love Old Ernest !!!! One of my favorite eppy's with Ernest in it was "Foward Mr. Grainger". He breaks my heart everytime I see that sad, broken hearted face of his.....

Vote for your favorite AYBS? Character and tell us why. :D

BTW, if you vote "Other", tell us who. :)

I don't see "Other". :?

Anyway, I have a soft spot for Miss Thorpe (obviously) because she is tall (as am I) and IMHO the prettiest female on the show.

I voted for Tebbs. I don't know why, but he just cracks me up. It also seems his character is different every episode...even though he wasn't in that many episodes.

Again, it isn't easy to pick out just one when they make such a great team! But Mr. Humphries has always been my favorite, followed by Mrs. Slocombe... but hey! (unlike the Diebold machine tally) I only get to tally one vote ya know.

This was a hard one. I liked the original cast (except for Mash), period. Even so, I had two favorites, Mr. Humphries & Mrs. Slocombe. I voted for Mr. Humphries, though. No special reason involved.
BTW, Harmon & Mash had their own poll. Why vote again?

im gonna of course say mr.lucas. because
and the reason y i say mr. lucas is because he always made me laugh with his sense of humor and the fact that he always went after mrs. brahms but as always failed. i woulda fainted if they would have actually became a couple. plus with all the ways he dealt with the customers and the way that he always made mr. humphries conversations funny, im not saying that they werent but he made them even funnier.

Actually, Mr. Lucas you wouldn't be 'alf wrong. I think Mr. Humphries had the best shape of all the guys. For example, did you notice how they all looked in tights in "Strong Stuff This Insurance?"

What a difficult choice! My personal favorite is Mr. Humphries , but since the show is so much about ensemble I'm going to have to say Mr. Lucas because of the conflict he had with each of the other characters. For example, Mr. H. never really had a conflict with Miss Brahms, or Miss Brahms with Mr. Grainger; Mr. Lucas got up everyone's nose at one point or another.

Forward, Mr. Grainger, indeed!

You have to hand it to our woodworm-seeking, cuckoo-clock ducking, spare-teeth coveting senior salesperson. I still giggle every time he grouses about his "nookie" for his personal belongings, or gets his teeth stuck in the custard, or drops my favorite pun "two uh" is human. Great comic timing and impecable acting chops -- even when he wore that spare pair.

I'll bet they cracked up so bad in rehearsal that when the time came for taping they were able to keep a straight face. Or else they just plain didn't get it.
