Anyone ever watched this hilarious comedy??
Richard Wilson plays Victor Meldrew, who is forced into early retirement from his job on the security desk. Finding all this spare time on his hands, he continues to drive himself, his wife & just about everybody else right round the bend
Everything that can happen..happens to Victor, from returning home from holiday to find his house has been demolished..to getting a glass of beer glued to his forehead
Very clever & funny (and sometimes sad) comedy from writer David Renwick, it's a must see.

I love this show. I always feel sorry for the poor wife Margaret. I have only seen a few episodes, but the one I remember was when a neighbour was staying with them because her house had flooded. It really was a funny show! :D

Very good performances by Richard Wilson and Annette Crosbie, with good support from their friend Mrs Warboys (actress Doreen Mantle). What I liked particularly about this show was the very good visual jokes such as when Victor picked up the dog instead of the telephone, and when they had 500 garden gnomes delivered instead of 5.
One episode I particlulary liked showed the 3 of them stuck in a traffic jam for the whole episode, whilst the traffic on the other side of the motorway went past a full speed.

Oh I loved this show. Lionel Hardcastle kind of reminded me of Victor Meldrew. I haven't seen this show for quite a while now they took it off our PBS lineup. We currently have AYBS?, As Time Goes By, Keeping Up Appearances, Vicar of Dibley, Last of the Summer Wine, Waiting for God, To The Manor Born and Fawlty Towers. They used to run Chef and AbFab but they stopped that too. Hence my purchasing the entire series of AYBS? including the movie and AYBS? Again, The Vicar of Dibley and As Time Goes By. I still need to get Keeping Up Appearances and the others. Have they ever put One Foot in the Grace out on DVD yet?

I read somewhere that "One Foot in the Grave" was the inspiration for the CBS Bill Cosby show called "Cosby" which aired in the late 90's. Anyone know if there's any truth to that? I never watched "Cosby" but somewhere I came across this tidbit of information....

It was mentioned in the post right below yours. Yes...it was the inspiration for the newer Cosby show.
