I can't get enough of this very short lived observational comedy series. Common can be funny. Ricky Tomlinson is, as usual, wonderful as the crude, telly watching, snacking, belching bone idle layabout Jim Royle, who often as not, feels it necessary to announce to all present when he's off for a crap.

So much like home it's scary. Yes, I'm from common roots also.

Watch the series' and find out what I mean.

Here's an excellent Beeb write up on the show.

EDIT: Here's a typical Jim Royle line: (Accused of adjusting his genitals in front of everyone): "I'm not fiddling with meself! I paid a quid for these underpants and I've got 50 pence worth stuck up me arse."

Hilarious comedy, i have them all on video.

Love the episodes where Norma comes to stay, which really annoys Jim

Sounds like a good show. I'll have to wait till it's available here in the states on DVD to view it.

I've read the cast are back together again to make a one-off special. :D

This is one of the best sitcoms made in the past 10 years. It's a British version of Seinfeld because nothing happens except that the inmates irritate each other.
