Hey all! I realize this topic has NOTHING to do with AYBS (and that's why I posted it in the Life Outside heading) but I decided to make a little home for all the Duranies on this board (hello out there).
It's obvious that I'm a fan 8) but who else is? Feel free to share some experiences, photos, comments, etc.
I've been a Duran fan ALL my life -- when I was little my daddy always used to play their records for me and I used to bust out some mean moves in my diapers  I recently attended their gig in Toronto (at the beginning of April) and I had a fantastic time!

I'm not a huge fan of music in general-my most listened to music is the theme from Van Der Valk :!: -but I do love some of DD's stuff.
Come Undone and Ordinary World (is that right?) are cracking.
And I do love View to a Kill too.
Oh heck-I suppose I liked all of their stuff-right from Planet Earth onwards (probably getting all the names wrong :  )
How about Arcadia? did you enjoy that?

Hey! Surprise Surprise! You got all the names RIGHT!! *yay*
I found my dad's old copy of the Arcadia record (So Red the Rose) recently ... I haven't been able to listen to it though 'cause the needle on our record player is broken  But, I HAVE heard a few songs *shame* -- all in all, I prefer DD but Arcadia is still a good listen.

ooh! bad luck-you'll have to get the needle sorted.
Wow! I'm amazed I got the names right lol
Hungry like the Wolf, that's them too isn't it? another good one. You know, I might just pop into the library and snap up their greatest hits :D

You definetly should!
Pick up DD "Greatest" ... that's (obviously) their greatest hits CD that came out a few years ago. Unfortunately it doesn't have a lot of their earlier hits on it (Careless Memories, My Own Way, etc). But, no doubt, you'll enjoy it :D

Since Duran Duran is a rock group, it's really not a Britcom, or British show, so I am moving this topic to Chat. We've had some lively music threads over there. We all seem to enjoy music. Please check the forum headers on the Main Page for the content of each forum. Thanks. :D

Duran Duran, were they from the 80's? If so, I love them. I love every song or band from the 80's, some more than others. But I think I have one of their songs on a cd of mine, I will have to see what one it was. They are also mentioned in a new song called "1985" or something by "Bowling for Soup."

Yes, I found it!
The song was entitled: "Hungry Like the Wolf."
Excellent Song! Good Taste!

I think "A View to a Kill" is the best Bond song ever!
I rocked out to DD during the 80's and early 90's. Though I haven't followed them as closely as my other favorite bands (Genesis, Marillion, Peter Gabriel) I still admire their music and musicianship.

View to a Kill is a cracker-I really turn up the Hi Fi when I have my Bond CD on.
You know, there's a whole thread about Bond themes waiting to happen

I enjoy most of their music. Being an "80's" head myself, DD were one of those guilty little pleasures we were allowed back then.....
BTW, About a month ago, VH1 Classics ran a new concert by DD that "YES" I watched. Still sound good !!!

Cool!
I just love the '80s so much. I was only alive for 2 years during the decade, but I still appreciate the music. Especially Madonna, OMD, Cyndi Lauper, Dead or Alive, etc.

Actually Greg, I didn't mean to say them at all, I meant to say Dead or Alive, but thanks for that anyways.

Wow, I never realized so many people liked DD! Awsome! 8)
Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that A View to A Kill was voted the best Bond theme ever. And to that I say: "Damn straight!"
Actually, if any of you have ever seen an interview with John Taylor (the bass player), he describes how the whole Bond-DD relationship came about ... it's pretty funny actually ... I'm going to try to find it for you guys ... I'll be back!
