I asked this in the old place-but I don't think anyone got the chance to reply.
There's an episode of KUA, called Looking at Properties...and I'd like to know how much a character called "Eric" appears. He's played by the actor Terrence Hardiman..and I'd uhhh, just like to know.

Pamela, I looked at my DVDs and there isn't an episode called Looking For Properties. In Rural Retreat, Hyacinth and Richard go looking together & finally check out Honeysuckle Cottage. That is where they meet the yokel. In Beacon For The Best In Hospitality, Hyacinth & Liz go looking together. I know the exact place you can go to for your KUA questions. It is like this board, only everyone talks about KUA. The address is: http://kuacentral.com. The people are all very friendly (as they are here), and very knowledgeable about KUA. I think you'll like the site. It is also a very clean site like this one. Enjoy!
PS. If you are unable to click on my link from here, don't worry. I assure you that the site is there. Just go into the Residence, when you get to the site.

I have been contemplating on whether to buy her series or not. The show is absolutely hilarious, but its on almost every night on pbs for us, so its not like I need to own it. Plus, it is like $91 to buy the box set here. I have the money, but don't want to blow it right away.

It's ?11.99 for the series I'm interested in-which isn't too bad-but right now, I'm a little up to my neck in it with bills etc....so I'm trying to be good lol

I have a question about KUA as well.
On this website I was on once, there was a trivia game for the show and it asked you what Hyacinth's address was, and the answer was like 17 Blossom Avenue or something like that. My question is, how are we supposed to know that? When did they give us that info on the show?
Greg WibblyWobbly
06-18-2005, 01:23 PM
I think (don't quote me though) that it was mentioned (whatever her addy was) in the eppy where they are to get furniture. And she was telling the delivery people.

Yes, I mentioned earlier, (don't remember if it was this board or the old) that kuacentral is like this board. The owner of the board is Onslow who used to be a chef on the QE2. So if you want to chat about kua, that board is as friendly as this one. Just ask hamot, goldie and worldtravel, as well as myself. :D

EVERY address I found for the Bucket's mentioned Blossom Avenue....except TWO!
?
?Most List This?Address for The Residence:
Blossom Avenue, Binley Woods, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV3 2DB, UK.
?
Telephone: 02476XXXXXX. Often mistaken for the local Chinese Takeaway telephone number.
?

The OTHER ADDRESS:
"Keeping Up Appearances" is filmed in Coventry and Warwickshire.
KUA isn't set in a specific, "real" town - but it was filmed in a number of "real life" locations. Most of the characters' homes were in and around Coventry.
The Bucket residence is situated at 117, Heather Road, Binley Woods, a village just east of Coventry. Obviously, Elizabeth and Emmett live next door at 119.
Onslow, Daisy, Rose and father live at 3, Michell Close, in the Stoke district of Coventry - some road filming was completed on nearby Aldermoor Lane, The Moorfield and Stoke Green roads for the Buckets' approach to Onslow's house.
Scenes "about town" were mostly shot in Royal Leamington Spa, where Hyacinth's sister Violet's house was also "located". Northumberland Road and Kenilworth Road have certainly featured in some driving sequences.

No one should be upset over something like that. Isn't that the purpose of a community board and what we all do on these boards/forums to try to help each other when we think we can?
Sorry if the management doesn't agree, but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to be able to post reliable information found on the internet without worrying if someone will be getting bent out of shape over it.

I'm going to settle this question once and for all. dazzlestar and greg you were both right. I watched "The 3 piece Suite" and here are my findings.
Greg, the house says Wansy Elm as your pics. prove. It also has 117 beside it. BUT I fully believe, and this is my opinion only, that, that is the name of the Bouquet Residence. Upper Middle class were known to name their residences. The reason I believe this is the name of the house is because how many houses do you see with the street address as well as the name on it? I'm not upper middle class, but my residence only has the number on it.
Now for the proof of the address. Anyone who has the DVDs may have just glanced at it and not really paid attention. I know I am guilty of that. AT THE VERY BEGINNING, before you get to play all or select an episode the following pops up. It is made to look like an invitation and it reads as follows:
You Are Cordially Invited To
Roy Clarks
Keeping Up Appearances
RSVP:The Residence:Blossom Ave.
Regrets Are Unacceptable
So here we have it once and for all. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak. It is totally understandable for someone to think the street was Wansy Elm. But doesn't it make sense, as Hyacinth and all her sisters are named after flowers, for her to live somewhere like Blossom Ave.?

You are absolutely right about the invitation thing.... I never thought of that before. Brilliant Wolf Fire !!!! I honestly thought at first that the whole "Wansy Elm" was a blooper. Like it was the addy of the people that really live there when the BBC filmed the show there and they forgot to edit it or something.

The actual address is 117 Heather Road, and of course Elizabeth's
is 119. If you watch the eppi of the show called 3 piece suite they
show on the end of the road a shot of the sign near the ground
it is made of wood with two short upright posts and a cross member.
You can see the sign reads Heather Road. If you have that eppi or
see it check it out. Many homes have a plaque on their houses in
the U.K. similar to the ones on Hyacynth's house. They all of course
have somthing different whatever the owner wants on it. I know
that when I went to Charlotte Church's house, her parents also had
on one in the front of their home. I wish I could post my pictures on
the board but I don't know how yet. When I do learn how I will post
the one with the sign on the garage.

It is great to travel and learn so much about other people and
their culture. I especially enjoy the differences in the language
and the architechture and food of european countries. I was trying
to remember where I was last year on July 8 on my birthday. I
checked my e-mails home and it turns out that I was in Halstatt
Austria. What a beautiful place, the europeans don't realize how
lucky they are to have such beauty and cultural diversity right in
their backyards. They merely travel a few hours and they are in
another country. I would encourage anyone of any age to travel
as much as possible, and not find excuses as to why they can't.
It is an experience of a lifetime and the rewards will definately pay
for the sacrifices they may have to make to get there. If anyone
is as interested in travel as I am, please send me a pm.

OT sorta, but it's Routledge flavoured. The detective series Hetty Wainthropp, is being shown at 7 p.m. on ITV3. It's a brill series, and well worth getting on dvd IMHO

I believe I caught a few episodes of that. Doesn't she have a sidekick named Geoffrey?

That's it dazzlestar-it's one of those guys out of Lord of The Rings that plays him-but I can't remember his name right now....Dominic something maybe

His name is Dominic Monaghan and he is currently playing on the ABC series LOST. He isn't in the pilot eppy of Hetty, though. The boy that starts out to play her sidekick is the one that she was hired to look for.

Right on all three Wolf fire-I just couldn't remember his name at all!
If I wasn't skint, I'd but the Hetty dvds-I love all the characters in that series-but I'm wayyyyy too penniless right now-and will be for quite a while.
