Have you ever watched a Brit Com and it suddenly dawns on you that you've seen this somewhere before ??
Example....
Watching Father Ted last night in the eppy "Grant Unto Him Eternal Rest" (Season 1-Eppy6) Ted and Dougal are playing charades and the answer was the film JAWS.
On "Vicar Of Dibley" in the eppy "The Christmas Lunch Incident" (Season 2-Eppy1) The villagers are playing charades and the answer was JAWS (even though Alice screws it up and holds up jars).
Can you think of some other examples ?????

Benny Hill did the "This is Your Life" skit before the one on AYBS?
Benny Hill did the "Asian man getting his tongue around his arse" joke before AYBS?

A lot of the humor on Britcoms actually comes from the British Music Hall, sort of like Vaudeville for us Yanks. I am unanimous in that.

It's a tight circle with Britcoms. The actors jump all over and do other roles on other series...and I expect the writers do likewise. So it's not too unbelieveable to think they "forget" what they've written for what show, or they very simply have watched another sitcom and either borrowed the lines, or forget they are not original to themselves, and used them. OT: but here in the USA I can use "I Love Lucy" and "Bewitched" as an example. Similar plot lines and sometimes almost verbatim dialogue. "ILL" director Willam Asher was married to Liz Montgomery.

Watching "French And Saunders" DVD last night and the one skit was FAS mocking Opera singers singing Kylie Minogue's "Lucky, Lucky, Lucky" and then Dawn French doing it on "Vicar".

Good Morning Miss Bliss
Saved By The Bell
Saved By The Bell The New Class
Saved By The Bell The College Years
City guys
California Dreams
Malibu CA
USA High
Hang Time
All About Us
Anything by Peter Engel = same scripts, same sets, same everything!
