I don't necessarily mean your favorite, but what made you laugh so hard you just couldn't breathe?
(I just watched the last 5 episodes last night (for the first time- I am kinda sad because now I've seen them all.) Anyway, I didn't love the last few episodes, but they had their funny moments. When I watched "the Nightclub", I laughed so hard it hurt!
Most of the episode didn't really stand out for me (the part where they were shooting the commercial was, to me, too much like all of the other times they were doing commercials and such) But, when the part came where they were in the movie theatre and the naughty movie was playing, and then their ad comes on without the picture, I simply couldn't stop laughing!
Even though it was so obvious/predictable, I laughed and laughed till my sides hurt.
So, What scenes or episodes did you guys find so hilarious it took your breath away? (everyone who has seen AYBS surely has had at least one such moment...I know I can't be the *only* weirdo who is so easily amused)

"Did you get your minute ste-a-a-a-k?"
"You'd be under a lot more strain if you had to EAT it!"
"Your NAA-..AAA..-AAAME, Sir?!"
"I've got hardly any bust at all..."
"He looks like a WINGNUT!"

Well no.....the OP is looking for scenes that make you CRACK UP. I listed mine and suggested you can "see the scenes in your own mind" as I list the lines that crack me up.

I totally agree. It's one of my favorite episodes.
I also like the whole misunderstanding about the note in "Dear Sexy Knickers." Lots of laughs in that episode!
For me the one is the one that inspired the name of the originator of this thread.
"hello Captain Peacock.... this is Sexy Knickers..."
I must have seen this approximately a zillion and 12 times but it always makes me laugh.
Frank Thornton and Mollie Sugden are great in that scene...

From "Horrah For The Holidays" when Humphries does his "Hi-Ya !!!" karate chop on the customer.
From "Top Hats and Tails" when Lucas grabs that dummys arm and dances with Slocombe with it."
From "Happy Returns" when Lucas gets it in the nads with Peacocks horse tail.

Tough Stuff this Insurance! Every time I see them behind that screen and Lucas looking over at Goldberg and Peacock I crack up! The smirck on Lucas's face.
Oh great one is The Junior!
Goldberg==="I've got it! I've got it! Corporal Peacock"
Rumbold== "This is Captain Peacock who actualy fought hand to hand with Rommel's Army!"
Goldberg==="We always wondered what he did in his spare time"

I'm going by memory here but I think it goes like this
Mrs. Slocombe: My opinon is that those who are retired should leave and not drag it out.
Mr. Humphries: Don't forget your hand bag Mrs. Slocombe
Mrs. Slocombe: Right, FAIRYCAKE :x
Mr. Humphries: Oh, so it's all coming out now isn't it.
I think these are the lines that make me crack up. I don't know if I got Mrs. Slocombe's first line correct. I forgot which episode. I have a feeling that the episode was "The Junior."
I also loved the episode "German Week."
I taught myself the dance. :germanweek:

I remember in Coffe Break this scene made me laugh so hard:
Mr. Mash comes in Mr. Rumbold's office with some tea, while Captin Peacock and Mr. Grainger are having a CONFIDENTIAL meeting.
Knock knock
Mr. Mash comes in the office
Mr. Rumbold: Come in!
Mr. Mash: I'm in!
Mr. Rumbold: I wish you waited to come in before I say come in; I'm having a important meeting here.
Mr. Mash: Should I go out again then?
Mr. Rumbold: No no put it down.
Ms. Ainsworth: Should I put that down.
Mr. Rumbold: No, I don't want that put down.
Mr. Mash: Then what shall I do with it?
Mr. Rumbold: Put it down
Ms. Ainsworth: I thought you said don't put it down?
Mr. Rumbold: I don't want you to put down "put it down."
Mr. Mash: Well I got to put it down, and as far as I'm concerned, you can stick it up.

I love it anytime the crew goes into Mr.Rumbolds office to "clear up" problems on the floor. The actors work so well together when they do that I wonder how they make it through the scene without dying laughing. For the record I have seen some of them crack a grin on occasion.
I also love it when they are having the beauty contest Capt.Peacock to Mrs.Slocum: Would you care to tell the panel your name and what planet you come from.
Also when Mrs. Slocum ( the club episode) opens her makeup case and there is carnival music playing. Saw that last night, yet again, and died laughing.

What had me laughing hard is the episode "Takeover" when they all had to participate to act like different people at end. Captain Peacock with his outfit being too short. Mr. Humphries with smoke all over his face. Mr. Lucas not knowing how to pronunce the name Lady Weeble Abel Smith. And Mr. Grainger with his wig. That was VERY funny! I actually had tears in my eyes.

One for Miss Brahms.....
From "Conduct Unbecoming" when Humphries is late for work, to attract Peacocks attention...
Miss Brahms - "Oh dear, my suspenders gone !!"
Peacock - "You're not wearing suspenders."
Miss Brahms - "That what I mean, they're gone."
As silly as that one is, it does get a chuckle out of me everytime.

The scene in Strong Stuff This Insurance when they are all in the nurses office stood behind the screen and Mrs Slocombe and Miss Brahms walk in and laugh at them.
I find that bit hilarious because that is so true to real life - all women (in Britain) would stand there and laugh at the men when they are walking around naked or in that kind of situation the staff were in. We just find it incredibly funny.

The meeting scene in "The Old Order Changes" when they're all calling each other by name....

there are loads of bits i love, but my favourites include:
pretty much all of the 'dear er er' scene in fifty years on, especially this line...
lucas - we don't think we can get the top 'er'!
i love the bit in a change is as good as a rest when they go to mr rumbold to complain...
slocombe - i have no interest whatsoever in your wibbly wobblies!
and the other one i can think of off the top of my head is the end of the dreams of mrs slocombe, when they're at the ballet...
humphries - i can't do that to mrs slocombe!

There are so many lines on Are You Being Served? that are hilarious I crack up everytime i watch the show but one of my all time favorite lines was in the episode called It Pays To Advertise when they were in the middle of shooting the commercial for Grace Bros. when Captain Peacocks line was "Your face seems very familiar" and Mr Harmon couldn't hear him so he had to keep repeating himself then finally Miss Brahms says "Wouldn't it be better if he shouted up her skirt?" The look on Mrs. Slocombe's Face was priceless and her reply was "Nobody is shouting up my skirt saying they recognize the face" i bust a gut laughing everytime i watch that scene it gets funnier and funnier each and everytime i see it

i dont know if its just my weird sense of humour, but i love that bit in the apartment when the staff gradually start arriving. the first bit i love is where mr humphries flips over the the arm of the sofa when he hears the door. the other bit is when captain peacock thinks mr humphries is sharing the bed with him, but calms down when he finds out its mr lucas
there are loads of others, but this was the ep i watched most recently, so it stuck in my mind

The scene that really gets me is in The Hero during the canteen scene. The best bit is when Peacock and Goldberg are talking about the Great Train Robbery and Goldberg says, "I don't think they'll ever get to the bottom of it." The staff giggles, then Mrs Slocombe says, "Oh I expect they will in the end.", then Mr Humphries does a spit take with his tea. :emotlol:
I'm laughing now as I write.
Of course we all know that The Hero was about the boil on Peacock's bum which made the eppy all the more hilarious !!!
