View Full Version : AYBS? Theme Query

I just got an inquiry from a visitor to the VVV about a dance music song that samples the AYBS? theme. I vaguely remember hearing something about that, but does anyone have any more info (or know what it sounds like)?

Thanks,

MM

Greg is very knowledgeable about that. He's got an AYBS? instrumental running with his Series 1 through 10 Screensaver. It's quite catchy. :D

I have it. It's really weird. It's called "Grace Brothers are you being served?"

1) AYBS? Radio Edit
2) AYBS? Slo Cum Mix
3) AYBS Rum Bold Mix
4) Heaven Held A Club

I haven't played it in a while but the first track has Peacock, Humphries and Slocombe saying lines which are blended into the music. Like I said, it's weird, but fun. Not something I want to play every day. BTW...the cover shows a version of Mr. H. It's not really John Inman's body...and it's headless...just the nattily attired torso of a gent. With a pink tie. You turn the CD over, and the back shows the bottom half of the ensemble, which includes lacy garters and stockings. Funny.

Yes, but I can't use Mr. WW's screensavers (even FileJuicer can't suck out any useful files) because my desktop is of the Macintosh persuasion.

Thanks for the info. I passed this along to the guy who emailed me.

This is off-topic: But I remember a "Keeping Up Appearances" version of the Macarena with a bunch of dubbed in lines from the show. It was funny!

It's also off topic. And you're welcome, Emily.

Tids, was that all that was on there ?? I have a few more songs that weren't mentioned on there. I wonder if another one was put out. I know the remixes of the theme were huge when the whole "RAVER" XTC thing was going on over in England.

Is there anywhere to download these tracks? Also, I would like to hear the Keeping Up Appearances Macarena, just to know what it sounds like.

I had to go to various places to find what I have. I at one time was putting up the dance mixes on the Old Board but no one seemed to care. I'll see what I can do for you.
