My boyfriend bought me the AYBS complete series DVD set last night---as an early Christmas present. I've noticed that the British comedies on DVD are quite expensive to buy here in The States. Does anyone know how much they cost in the UK?

I use Amazon.com which has excellent prices on used and new DVD's. I've bought all my Britcoms from sellers on Amazon. You can look at the Amazon UK site to check prices, I suppose.

I was just curious....I suppose that UK sets are considered imports,so that may explain why they are so costly here in The States.

How did you get the Miss Slocombe icon with your post?

I just went to Amazon Uk to check out the price in Great Britain. I found a used price of about Ninty-Five Pounds.It was region 1 as were all of the AYBS? DVD sets. The UK is in region 2 ?

But the ones we buy are done here in America, hence the "Region 1". I got both of my sets for a combined price of 140 bucks (about that range). Well worth it concidering there are more miles on my DVD's then the Space Shuttles combined !!!!

I bought mine in Canada, where I live, and I believe they were both around $90 each. But that was an excellent price for shuch an excellent show! :wink:

I like watching the bonus discs too! I can't stop watching A Life On The Box with Wendy Richard lol. I just love it! :)

Do you guys like it and have you watched the other bonus DVD of Allo! Allo!? I haven't yet.
