NEW YORK (AP) ? Black Sabbath, Miles Davis and the Sex Pistols are among five musical legends to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will hold its induction ceremony March 13 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, the organization announced Monday.

Also to be inducted into the class of 2006: 1980s New Wave band Blondie and Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I've very happy for Black Sabbath and Blondie. Two of my fav top 10 groups but when the Hell are they going to induct KISS ?????? They hold the American Gold Record record so come on now !!!

Sabbath definitely deserves to be there buddy. Total soundtrack of the 70's there.

I missed this, somehow. :shrug: Can't they find room in the hall for Todd Rundgren?

I can hardly wait (I guess) to see the clips of the induction ceremony: Ozzy singing "Paranoid", Lynyrd Skynyrd performing "Sweet Home Alabama" (in spite of their being from Florida--that has always bothered me for some reason), and the Sex Pistols..what could they perform? "Anarchy In the UK" is their only song that has anything resembling a melody; everything else of theirs sounds the same.

I never got the whole Sex Pistols things myself. I love Punk music but no at all a fan of The Sex Pistols.

I agree that Genesis and ELP should definitely get their chance. Early Genesis and ELP were musical genius.

The injustice of it!
Yet again KISS is overlooked by the so-called music authorities.
I dream of the day KISS is inducted into the Hall of Fame. You can bet i'll throw a party when it happens.

Yay for Sabbath and Skynyrd, though. They certainly deserve it.

No, I liked the Clash, but I only bought the Sex Pistols' one and only album to find out what all the fuss was about. "Anarchy" really is the only song of theirs to have a melody. Please don't call me a Sex Pistols fan...please! :shock:
