In honour of the eppy that aired today, does anyone else wonder what the real results of the physical examination were in "Strong Stuff, This Insurance"? What do you think they really were? Which staff got the money and which didn't?

I think that Mr. Goldberg and Mrs. Slocombe didn't get the money (because of what they said outside the door of Mr. Grace's office), and the others did. Probably after Mr. Humphries fainted, someone came and told them the results.

i wouldn't be surprised if mrs. slocombe didn't get any money the way she drank alcohol with her friend Mrs. Axelby, it always sounded like she drank like a fish.

Something tells me that no matter how good or poor condition they all were in, Mr. Grace wasn't ever going to spring for it. With each report, he would have only imagined the price of the scheme increasing. In the end, he would have told Rumbold simply, "The scheme's off." Each staff member would have read their personal report as being rather good and then each would wonder, "So who's falling apart so bad we're not getting covered?"

I always thought the way that episode ended without any resolution to the main plotline was a little annoying, but I kind of like the Corporal/Captain's idea that after they heard the "wrong" results, they never heard anything about the scheme again. Sounds typical of Grace Bros. management, and validates the non-ending of the episode.

i agree with cpl..er....Capt. Joe Mr. Grace was a tight fisted old man who never cared about his employees.

He didn't care about anyone other than making sure he got a good eyeful of the stores latest bit of skirt and his nurse.

this may be a bit morbid comment. it was always in the back of my mind, when the series ended, i thought in "real life" mr rumbold would be the first to pass away, then captain peacock and wendy richards would probably be the last. i would be cool to get to see trevor bannister on tour, you can't find anything of him giving interviews on youtube, it would be cool to see if he is still bitter about the show, or if he wished he would have stayed??????

It's been a while since I've seen this one (College is cutting into my time for this), but I don't mind the non-endings (a few episodes have them). It's just like management to drop something and then hope the employees just forget. I can imagine them asking Rumbold over and over and he makes up a strange (different) excuse to each of them each time.
Or he'd blame the board room. You have to wonder if the building is ensured against "Acts of the Boardroom".

I think it was all a scam by Mr. Grace to keep the pretty Doc employed at the store, but eventually he found it cheaper to let her go and hire another pretty secretary.

There was a hint of the results for a few of them. They were discussing it just before they overheard the results for the furniture. Mr Goldberg said that the doctor told him he was in good shape for a man of 70, when he was only 63, indicating not very good results. Mrs Slocombe said how the doctor clicked her tongue, indicating the Betty Baby was also not in good shape. Mr Humphries said that the doctor smiled at him, indicating that he was in good health.
Then there was their reaction to overhearing the results. Did Mr Goldberg really think he was in such bad shape that his knob was going to fall off? Was Mrs Slocombe really once used by alot of soldiers (maybe the American airforce on Clapham Common?) Is so hard to believe that Miss Brahms had a screw loose. Was Mr Humphries older than he looks but saggy in the middle.

Trevor Bannister was doing a play which was very lucrative when the AYBS? shooting schedule was changed. He tried to get them to make accomodation for him,but it couldn't be done. He said he was not giving up several months work ,doing the play, for 6 weeks work.
