This woman is pretty but she was annoying to me.
What do you guys think of her?

I thought the same when I first saw the series, but I began to see her as
having the same problem as Spooner did in AYBS?. ANd that is trying to
break into a group where the people have known each other for 20+ years.
Especially if you tend to think for yourself instead of groupthink.
Anyway, I've decided I like her better, now....

She does annoy me, but you always have to have someone that tends to get under everyone's skin in order to keep the show "happenin"..

I don't think Miss Lovelock was ever in danger of breaking into the group...being an interloper as it were. She was Mr. Grace's secretary, so right off the bat, she was "better than all the rest" as she made this known by keeping her distance and peppering it with a really great snootiness that made her all the more irristible to Peacock and all the more unctuous the females at Millstone Manor. I liked her. She had sass, and big 'tude. Gorgeous figure to boot....

She was one I disliked at first but then after I watched the show for a while, I thought she was that "Breath of Fresh Air" that did the show some good.

I was not in favour of the way she spoke to some of the staff (Miss Brahms, Mrs Slocombe, etc.) But she had to take some cruel comments from them as well, so it was all fair in the end. I never found her lines to be hilarious, but the show did need another character, IMO. And she was very pretty and elegant.

When Lovelock tells Slocombe she shouldn't wear her skirt so short and Slocombe starts crying and then calls Lovelock a "b*tch" is HILARIOUS !!!! :lol2: :lol2:

Didn't she say something about Miss. Brahms bust?
Miss Lovelock spoke about how riding a horse was very good for the bust,
IF you catch it in time..
Miss Brahms said, I'll have you know they're as firm as they were at 16.
to which Miss Lovelock replies, I;m sure there are dozens of carry-out boys who are still around to confirm your story....(OWTTE)

OT: Well thanks, Frank. :) I worked for a while selecting some new
AYBS-related smilies for the board a while back (that one reminded me of Mrs. S. and Mrs. Axelby on their nights outside the pub!!) and they've been added on. You can find them by accessing "View More Emoticons" at the left of your screen when you go to post.... ~~Tids.

I think she started out as kind of a snob but as the show went on, she tried to fit it> the last episode she even went with when they rescued the sheep.

I've always thought of her as the "Peacock" character for GAF. She was the stuck, snobbish, too good for everyone character that our Steven was on AYBS?

Miss Lovelock whas the secretary of Young Mr. Grace. When they went on a holiday he saw her topless (or quite naked, I don't quite remember), had a hart-attack and died.
I thought Miss Lovelock was a very nice girl. (I would have seen her topless as well)

We are not as old as Young Mr. Grace was and I think YMG would like that Miss Lovelock was been keeping wel looked after.
Who played the caracter of Miss Jessica Lovelock by the way and has she played in other shows as well?

The lovely actress Jooanne Heywood played Miss Lovecock...er... Lovelock. I know she did a bit of theater before moving on to the first Season of "First Of The Summer Wine". She did a kiddies show called "Artageous", two eppys of "Coronation Street", "The New Statesman" and an eppy of "Prince Among Men". She is also a dancer and and a secretary.

I thought it strange myself but then I got to thinking was there a spin off of "Last of Summer Wine"???

First Of The Summer Wine was the prequel series made in 1988. It saw Clegg, Foggy & Compo as youths. It was set in 1939.
Pretty funny if i remember right.

Well she insults Miss Brahams too about her well a bit of her anatomy and winds up making them both upset. That was when Mrs. Slocumbe started hitting the brandy bottle. Miss Brahams offered to pour her a drink and she brings the bottle and tells Mrs. Slocumbe to tell her when and Miss Brahams pours like half glass and stops and Mrs. Slocumbe tells her I haven't told you when yet!

I agree with you. I think that in the AYBS? series they had Mr. Mash or Mr. Harmon being caddy to Captain Peacock. In the GAF series it was Miss Lovelock playing against the ladies. I think her character was needed and fit into the story lines.
