What things happened in Grace and Favour that echo or mirror things that have happened in AYBS?

The first one that comes to mind is at the end of the harvest dance (Wibbies eppy title "The First Guest), Slocombe and Peacock slap each other like they did in "German Week".

When Miss Lovelock and Mr. Humphries are doing a ballet scene from Romeo and Juliet you see Miss Lovelock dragging him away just like mr. lucas did when they did one from swan lake in the episode Strong Stuff this Insurance.

:mashhead:The faulty elevator not only in Grace Bros. store but the one in Millstone Manor

It's been a while since I've seen the pilot episode of Grace and Favour, but if memory serves me well, we see YMG's wheel barrow in the Board Room. If I'm not mistaken, though, it's a different wheel barrow than the one we saw in "Horray for the Holidays."

"The things you see when you haven't got a gun!" - My favorite reusable line in both series.

Mr. Humphries' Italian Tony accent used for Luigi the Bartender.

Miss Brahms' posh accent (and everyone surprised to hear she can do it).

Oddly enough, they rarely dressed up in funny outfits in G&F as often as they did in AYBS. And you would think they had more reasons to do so in a hotel than in a department store!

No wheelbarrow but there is the YMG portrait that is different.

In "Roots?" they dressed up as country yokles for a song and dance, and wore similar costumes for the Harvest Thanksgiving Dance at the Manor

Ah. I knew something was different. Thanks, Greg!

The "everyone pretends to be someone else" scenarios from "Takeover", "Closed Circuit", "Hold Up" and arguably others, show up again in the "...But Oym 'Appy" episode. And so does "dressing up as yokels", which is a deja vu on AYBS? and G&A both.

watching mr. rumbold outside the pub ready to start a boxing match with malcolm's dad kind of reminded me of captain peacock practicing his boxing around the dept. when he was to fight mr. franco of sports but then again mrs. slocombe comes to the rescue.

Good one MJ. Slocombe saves both their butts but at least in GAF, Rumbold shows more gonads than Peacock ever thought of having.

that is true but remember both mr. rumbold and captain peacock both chickened out in the episode "The Hero" so maybe mr. rumbold wised up a little?

Greg WibblyWobbly

Rumbold probably had some anger built up in him because of his wife running off with Mr. Prentis.

i also remembered that in the episode "Hand of Fate" Captain Peacock and Mr. Lucas and Mr.Humphries are dealing with a japanese customer and keep saying So...and when mr. rumbold and mr. thorpe are saying it to ms. wong lee it reminded me of that episode.

In "Mrs Slocombe Expects" Tiddles was impregnated by a Burmese cat that hid in rhubarb. IN G&F Mr Moulterd found the one eed ginger tom knocking seven bells out of Tiddles (Probably a different Tiddles) after Tiddles chased him and cornerd him in the rhubarb patch.

In "Strong Stuff This Insurance" in AYBS, and in "Deep in the Mongolian Dung" in G&F, Mr Humphries was hit in the Grace Brothers while doing ballet.

hearing mr. humphries say he was getting housemaid's knee, mr. lucas said the same thing in "Diamonds Are A Man's Best Friend" when he and mr. humphries are looking for the diamond on the floor.

also when Mr. Conklin offered a reward for the return of his teeth, reminded me of Young Mr. Grace when he wouldn't let the staff take the reward money for themselves and put instead into a Retirement Home.

I want to give them all some muck boots...poor Mrs. Slocombe lost her shoe in the mud! I've watched 3 episodes...do they always dress up like Green Acres to do farm work?? I'm loving this! Ich Liebe Dies!

I'm glad I got up the courage to watch the G7F discs I bought. I now know how to make tea properly...not that I do it, mind you. But I never knew that the milk goes in first. ;)

Throughout AYBS, there were references to OMG not getting about much. In 'Grace is Gone, The Inheritance' when Mr Thorpe mentioned he was the junior partner in the firm of Thorpe, Thorpe and Thorpe, Mr Humphries said the Old Mr Thorpe must not get about much.

There are verying opinions on which goes in first. The Tea or the Milk. They are known as TIF's and MIF'S. Some say the milk makes the tea cold when poured in last. Myself I'm neither one way or the other.:)

Well, I would be relegated to the Maintenance Department's table of cretins since I don't put milk in my tea!

I've heard that if you put the milk in first, the tea will scald the milk and it will curdle. If you put the tea in first, it will cool a tiny bit and when you add the milk it will be fine once it hits the tea.
I'm a TiF person, as was taught to me. The tea is still hot when I drink it, but does not scald my mouth.
