Britcom Fan Vote

Last night my PBS stations did something called a Britcom Fan Vote where they showed 6 different Britcoms and the public voted on their favorite. The winner will be shown this Fall along with Monty Python.

1 Last of the Summer Wine
2 Don't Wait Up (I liked this one)
3 My Family
4 The Brittas Emprire
5 Some Mothers Don't 'Ave 'Em
6 Only Fools and Horses

When I turned it off, Don't Wait Up was in the lead with 40 votes. :D

As someone who is English, I would say that three are good, and three are bad.

Good ones are:

The Brittas Empire (really of its time in the early 90s)
Only Fools and Horses (classic institution here)
Some Mothers Do Ave Em (the stunts and situations are great)

The other three, in my view, are not worth watching, but that's just me. If you like them - enjoy! In fact, with the three I mentioned, you get a pretty good picture of Britain from the 70s to the 90s.

It's the story of a father and son, both doctor's, whose marriages both end.

The father comes to stay with his son, but the son wants his Mum and Dad to reunite.

That's how I figure it anyway. The piece I saw was funny. The son's ex-wife had some building work done and sent the work to him. She put a brick wall up between his doctor's office and her office. He walk right into it. :lol:

I just love My Family!

That show airs on YTV at 11:30pm, and I just love it.
It is a newer comedy with episodes still being made in fact.
I prefer the older episodes made around 2000, but I LOVE the show.

I've heard great things about Brittas Empire. I'll have to check it out in the BBC Comedy Guide.

I saw an episode of Brittas Empire being filmed! It was a great show, bit slapstick but had running gags and definately very nineties!

Used to watch Don't Wait Up, was good at the time but haven't seen it in years although it currently airs here.

Haven't seen My Family yet but they have been showing Don't Wait Up! and Last of the Summer Wine.
