Mavis, definitely. As best I remember (it's been a long time since I watched G&F) Jessica was evil and conniving, while Mavis was sweet and good-natured.

Besides, I fancied Mavis more than Jessica, anyway. ;)

Mavis never pretended to be more than a naive country girl. Jessica was arrogant, but not too bright when you think about it. She actually believed Capt Peacock's war stories when no one else did.

I don't think she actually believed them as much as she pretended to.. because that's just how women do to goad a man's ego.. pretend that he really accomplished something when in actuality, he wasn't much!! That's where Jessica's evil, conniving side came in to play, as mentioned before. :D

I DEFINITELY vote for MAVIS!!! She acted so good on that show...soooo SWEET and INNOCENT like...AND, IF any GUY THINKS she can be taken advantage of, then they are more naive then she is because being a Farm Girl, she can woop (beat) your arse! Jessica is hot looking (especially in those tight, white riding pants!) but seems like too High Maintenance and a bit of a snob....
