It is kind of a sad subject but this thought has been running through my mind lately and I can't help thinking about it.

If the characters' lifespans mirrored the actors' lifespans, then Mr. Rumbold, Captain Peacock, and Jessica Lovelock would be the last of the beneficiaries left to benefit from Mr. Grace's will. (Mavis would still be there too, but she was just a resident farmhand, not a beneficiary.) Assuming a beneficiary cannot pass along or sell their share of Millstone Manor to anyone and that the remaining members are always equal partners, what would their lives be like now?

I just can't picture the the three coexisting at Millstone Manor after all these years. Do you think all three would be still be there trying to outlast the others?

My guess is that Jessica Lovelock would have glommed on to another millionaire any left years ago. As for Peacock and Rumbold, I think Peacock would have arrange for Mr. Rumbold's demise by now to become lord of the Manor.

Whay do you think would have happened by now?

I think Jessica would have partnered with Peacock for the sole purpose of cheating him out of his share in the future and both of them would have killed Rumbold by now and buried him in the field somewhere.

If Jessica would have conspired with Peacock do knock off Rumbold, she would have poisoned Peacock next!

Suddenly I get this picture of the game "Clue" -- Capt. Peacock in the study with the candelabra.

I also think Jessica would have found another old millionaire and moved on.

Peacock would have gotten involved with some local woman. Her husband would have found out, threatened him with grievous bodily harm, and the Captain would have headed back to London (Only after making numerous phone calls to find a place to live. Maybe Auntie Hilda would still be alive.)

Rumbold would go down with the ship - still trying to organize enough staff to keep the place running even though it would have clearly gone to the dogs.

Love your "Clue" idea, Capt. Joe. Good thinking!

I think that Mavis would have recieved whatever her father had tucked away, which supposedly was quite considerable. Also I think that having no relatives, Mr Humphries would have left his share to Mavis, making her a Lady of the Manor. Mrs Slocombe would have left hers to a foundation to care for Homeless Pussies. If Miss Brahms didn't leave hers to one of the others, it would have gone to her nearest living relations, the Fowlers of Albert Square. I have no thoughts on Miss Lovelock, so her gloming onto another millionaire, probably in his 80s, is as good as anything. As for Peacock and Rumbold, any plans they made against each other would come to naught. Several years from now, Mavis would be sole owner of the Manor, which she may rename Humphries-Millstone Manor.

I'm sure Lucas would have shown up eventually to claim a share of the pension.
