What was it that Mrs. Slocombe poured over Mr. Lucas's head?
Custard, I think.
We leads us of course to BLANCMANGE. A disgusting, wiggly milk pudding and the object of discussion in the canteen.
How about that mystery soup Mr. Harman serves from a trash can, while wearing a gas mask! It had a hint of curry...and a partially dissolved OXO cube....sounds yummy!
They also have eaten a few meals of bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes). Covered with "sauce" (the brit term for ketchup or A-1 Steak Sauce and the like)
Cream Cakes "If you keep eating those cream cakes, no one will KNOW you've been reduced!"
Rhubarb "I can't recommed the rhubarb and the toad has jumped OUT of the hole!"
It's ****-A-Leekie (chicken and leek) soup BTW.

I believe the buns and cheese were served on the floor for a staff meeting. But it's food. So let's venture out of the canteen now:
Cocao and buns
Smoked Salmon Sandwiches and Irish Coffees
At the Shareholder's Meal we had some:
Sherry
Brown Windsor Soup
Eels (almost...!!)
Yorkshire Puds
Potatoes Boiling Over
There are more......
And at Romano's the staff enjoyed a
Nice aperitif...." Thank you...and they're MY OWN!! "
Lobster Thermostat (thermodore....)
Well hung venison
There are more....

rissoles- what they thought caused Mr Rumbold's food poisoning. (Also mentioned in other episodes
Sardines- Mr Goldberg offered the head of his for Mrs Slocombe's pussy in The Apartment
Hot Pot- "I hope he's faster than he was last year my Hot Pot turned into a cold pot"

Halibut (with holly in it) - eaten by Mr Lucas in "Christmas Crackers"; because he didn't buy a ticket for the department's Christmas lunch.

What about the mouse-nibbled cheese that Capt. Peacock carved his and Mrs Slocombe's initials in? "How sad, the passing of the years".
Or Mr Humphries' pill -based diet. "Which particular pill is going to cure which particular deficiency?".
And, ok it didn't actually happen, but if Mr Grainger had got his way, it could have been 2 cyanide tablets...

I wouldn't really want Mrs Slocombe to be poisoned ,but that is a great line. '..no make it two in case the first one doesn't work.":graingerhead:

It is a great line. You could summarise the quality of most of the canteen food when Rumbold suggests providing vouchers for a canteen lunch for Mrs Slocombe in "50 years on", and Peacock retorts "Rather along the lines you were thinking, Mr Grainger".
