I just found this while surfing around on youtube today. Its a British comedy starring the belated Mollie Sugden that she did after the ending of AYBS? Its the pilot, well the first part of it. Its about a woman who wins a cooking contest in the year 2050 and gets to tour some new fangled space station, but accidently gets launched into space...the other parts of the pilot are accessible in the menu to the right and labeled. Even though its been the called the worst British Comedy ever..I think its pretty funny.

I had read something about it, but had never really looked to into it. Its not bad...I may have to buy it actually, if only because it has Mollie in it.

Thanks for posting this! I had no idea someone put it on YouTube. I never knew Croft and Lloyd wrote this as well....funny stuff!
And is that Gordon Kaye at the beginning????

Horrible horrible show. Did for Mollie what "Take a Letter" does for John.

Oh, I don't know...I wouldn't say it's horrible. It's not her best though, but it's amusing enough.
As poor as it was, I recall watching it years ago, and you have to be impressed that even when someone is cast in a poorly devised show, their own quality still shows.

Yes to a point. Then you take a show like "That's My Boy" and Mollie was fantastic in that one.

If memory serves me correctly, wasn't this show voted the "Worst BritCom Ever" by some panel a year or two ago? I think we had a discussion about this on the board at that time.

Worst side project I've seen......Take a Letter Mr Jones is like Citizen Kane compared to this:lol:
I was hoping Darth Vader would show up with the death star and blast that ship into oblivion:lol:

In a way it was so bad it was funny, the only real funny bit was in the first link there where the camera is focusing in on Mollie and she says almost perfectly "will you tell your camera to stop looking at my bust...", I bust a gut...after that it just went downhill.

I think in the end what it comes down to with this and many shows is that one amazing actor cannot make it work. All of the good lines (well...all like 4 or 5), were Mollies, but not one person around her could live up to her. no matter how good the cast...a bad show is just bad. I admire Mollie though because she was amazing like she always is in this, but really could have given her something better.

This and the fact that you can't help but have Mrs. Slocombe in your mind when watching it. I had that trouble with "That's My Boy" but you soon realize that the characters are different so in a sense you start seeing her differently. I couldn't do that with "CBMN".

I know this is kind of an old thread but I would love to purchase the dvd's for this. However I can only find them in the UK and I don't think that format will work in the US. Does anyone know where I can get them in a US format?
Thanks!

I've only ever been able to find Region 2 versions of this sitcom on general release. There are some Region 0 Pal versions which are theoretically universal, but they will have been copied direct from video and the quality won't be great; a quick search found links like http://www.ioffer.com/i/Come-Back-Mrs-Noah-Rare-Mollie-Sugden-102716297
as the only type of these disks currently available, and they have a fishiness aound their whole makeup that makes the more circumspect consumer reach for his or her bargepole...:) You may be better contacting the BBC directly and asking about release formats that were used for the PBS broadcasts on US tv.
Sorry that this isn't much help.

Thank you madeinengland! I saw that link and I don't think it looks to great either. Rats. I know the show will probably bite, except for Mollie of course, but I would love to add this to my collection. My AYBS disk set and Take a Letter Mr.Jones tapes are getting lonely on the shelf.

A multi-region DVD player will solve that problem. I've got one myself and wouldn't be without it - absolutely invaluable for Britcom enthusiasts on the left side of the Big Pond.

Who else likes this show? It's not the best thing in the world but my brother and I enjoy our DVDs of it (even though episode 2 won't play completly :(). We have a fun little theory that Mrs. Noah might somehow be related to Mrs. Slocumbe, making the show be in the future of AYBS? Anyone have any comments about Come Back Mrs. Noah?

Here's another thread already started where we've discussed this show.
Personally I've never liked "CBMN". I know I tried hard to like it but the show was just bad.
Does anyone have a digital copy of this? It's been yanked off of youtube and I've been Yanked my whole life - so getting a region 2 DVD wouldn't help me much. :p ...I'd still love to see it, though!

I just foumd it on You-Tube, but didn't stick around to watch it.
Here is a page with CBMN in streaming video. You can find a lot of things on Google.

Yes, that is.
You can find the DVD on ioffer (mentioned here in the forum - I don't have this copy - so I don't know about the quality), but also (like Odd Man Out) from UkRarities (Euston Home E. / Australia). The quality of the UKRarities is like the vids from Youtube. It's ok...anyway it's better as the quality of the "Odd man out" DVD from this Euston H.E.!
My b/f liked it a lot - cause he liked the stupid idea that a housewife wins a contest and gets into space.
It's totally crap..but I must confess I can laugh about it! Maybe I was on drugs or drunk when I watched it LOL No seriously (I don't take drugs or drink at all) - I was so bewildered that I don't know what to think about it. Maybe I had a very good day and was very generous that I found something nice in this show....
