Vivienne Johnson [Archive] - Are You Being Served...and More!

Blonde, husky voiced Vivienne Johnson is best remembered for her stint as Mr Grace's Nurse in the smash hit comedy series "Are You Being Served?" (1972).

Her three years of work in the popular series made her a well known face with British TV viewers in the late 1970s and early 80s. Although superb in the role some may argue she was there for decoration rather than acting.

It was a shame her character was not fully developed in the series and it remained nameless throughout.

Vivienne was also a minor "Carry On..." star, appearing in Carry On England (1976) and the "Carry On Laughing!" (1975) television series. It would appear that her main work was done in the 1970s and she may now have retired from the screen.

I thought she was an excellent actress as well!
My favourite line of hers was in "Closed Circuit".

"I'm absolutely ravenous!"
She said it perfectly!

It wasn't Miss Brahms apperance that Lord Hurley liked, it was the nurse's voice. Lord Hurley knew what he wanted and he came and got it. The nurse seemed as shocked as Miss Brahms when Lord Hurley walked over to OMG's table. :D

This ep has some holes in it...at least for me. The note he sent to Miss Brahms indicated that he was enraptured by the voice he heard on the TV outside the store. Wouldn't he have also seen her (Miss Brahms') face on the TV, too...or did he just have the windows rolled down enough to get the audio? And if he liked the voice THAT much he'd have made an effort to go in the store and get her after viewing the whole package on the telly. Then, at dinner, his eyes just happened to latch onto the OWNER of "that voice!" and it was the nurse.

True - there were some holes. I don't like that episode - don't get me wrong it has some funnies in it. But I don't like Miss Brahms being let down at the end. I feel too sad for her.

As far as the nurse goes my favorite moment of her is a very small one. It comes from the credits of Punch and Judy. Check it out. She is very cute and kid like.

I have to agree with Wibby on this one. I used to think she was rather pretty, but now I find her kind of....well, not. I don't think she's repulsive, but Wendy deserved the castle more than Toothy Girl did!

No, I've never met her and I'm sure she is a very lovely person in real life. I just always hated that "Nurse Character". I'm a fan on the original YMG Nurse, Pat... Oh damned, I forgot her last name !!! Someone help me out on this one, it's too early for this !!!! :lol:
It's just that Miss Johnson has such big teeth that she could eat an apple through a chain linked fence......

I'm sure Viviene is a nice woman in real life but she's got a "Butter Face". Everything is nice about her butter face !!!!!!
