I've always had trouble with picturing Morris giving it to Mavis. Maybe he did as a child, or maybe Mrs. Moulterd used it way back when.

At Mavis' age during G&F, was it just a threat or do you think she got it often? If so, how often?

I don't know if Mrs. Moulterd ever used it on Mavis since she left with the blacksmith (I think it was the blacksmith) when Mavis was still in nappies.

As to your question, Mavis seemed to fear the strap so I would guess she had gotten it before. As to how often, I don't know.. enough to fear it, though. :D

I agree. I'm thinking that if Mr. Moultard tried to hit her the chef or Malcolm (if he got wind of it) might have intervened.
