Remember in "Strong Stuff this insurance"....Those who participated were
supposed to get a lump sum at retirement.....
Since the store closed, and they retired, wouldn't they get their money?
Miss Brahms 3000 pounds, Mr. Humphries 2100 pounds, Captain Peacock 1700 pounds, Mrs. SLocombe 700 pounds.

In "The Junior" after Mr. Tebb's leaves they are talking about what impressions they would leave behind. Mr. Humphries says, " I expect my aftershave will linger on my billpad for a couple of sales and after that nothing." It turns out there were no sales after they left.

Just some loose ends.

Quite a depressing though but wasn't their "retirement" money or whatever they were to get from MG invested in horrible investments ???

from SSTI it was to be cash money payout, which would be in addition to their other retirement plan(s), I thought.

But yes, you are right Greg, Mrs. Slocombe called them "rather old-fashoned" and that would be kind. More like junk left over from the 19th century.

They didn't get a bad deal though, a Manor house that they can live in and do a little work to keep from paying anyone else. Not bad for a bunch of pensioners !!!

Good point, although now they have to live with Tender Bottom!

(I just bet the writers were dying to use that every chance they got!)
