Thought this would be interesting. If there were going to be a modern day AYBS? made and money was no object, who would compromise your dream cast? Since we have members from all around the world, there is no specific region of actors we need to follow (I.E. American, English, etc.), just give a quick list.

This is actually tough, trying to think of actors who could do some of these characters justice, but here's what I think would be good
Mrs. Slocombe: Either Dawn French or Roseanne...but I lean in favor of Roseanne
Mr. Humphries: Sean Hayes (honestly the only one who I can think of who could come close to John Inman)
Capt. Peacock: the only person who comes to mind is like...John Cleese but I don't know about him.
Miss Brahms: Amy Adams, she could play both the ditzy and the street smart version of Miss Brahms pretty well.
Mr. Grainger: May Seem weird..But I think Clive Swift (Richard on KUA), would make a good Grainger
Mr. Lucas: This is probably the hardest as Trevor Bannister was just amazing, but I could see Neil Patrick Harris being Lucas
Rumbold: This is a tough one...but again I am going out on a Limb and Saying someone like Steve Martin would be pretty good (seeing him in Pink Panther made me think of him)
YMG: hmmmmm could we just resurrect Harold Bennet??

I'm so out of the loop when it comes to current telly actors that this will be a hard one.

Mrs. Slocombe: I think Holland Taylor or Doris Roberts could play the haughty Mrs S.
Mr. Humphries: I like Sean Hays too but also like Alan Cumming
Capt. Peacock: Alan Rickman
Miss Brahms: Joanna Garcia or Drew Barrymore
Mr. Grainger: Was thinking Charles Durning but he's a bit long in the tooth, how about Captain Kirk, William Shatner?
Mr. Lucas: Haley Joel Osment
Rumbold: Stephen Root or Wallace Shawn
YMG: Bill Murray
seems to be heavy on the US actors

I can only think of a few at the moment:
Miss Brahms - Zoe Tapper
Mr. Grainger - Timothy Spall
Captain Peacock - John Cleese
Mrs. Slocombe - Dawn French

Leah Remini (Carrie on The King of Queens) would also make a good Miss Brahms, she has the look and the wit.

Here's an idea: bring back Wendy Richard as Miss Brahms, now finally promoted to the head of Ladies' Wear (and who decided she was too young to retire to Millstone Manor after all) and bring Zoe Tapper in as her new junior.
This would be an ideal opportunity to write the Miss Brahms-based eppy or eppies that never appeared in AYBS. Would she let her new position go to her head, as happened with Mr. Grainger and Mrs. Slocombe during their temporary elevations, or would she be a more enlightened supervisor?

Doris Roberts would be a GREAT Mrs Slocombe! "What do you want me to do with all these bras and knickers?!" LOL (Referring to the "Fruit of the Month" episode of course!)
