i have no idea as to the reason, but in the UK - we only have series 1-7 released on dvd?!?! :confused:

How is it that USA, australia, and other countries have the full set when it was a UK show?

Can anyone shed any light on this -its always confused me..

i know what you mean... im from the uk too, and id love for the rest of the series to come out on dvd. ive got all the ones that have been released so far (which werent always easy to find actually!)

You know what is funny, is that Madam Beryl and I hate that we cannot get a lot of Brit TV on American DVD. We have to get a multi-region DVD player in order to see TV show and movies that have not been released here in the US.

Can you do the same thing? Buy the American versions of the DVD's and get a multi-region DVD player. I have seen them on Amazon.com.

When you want to market anything you try to sell it where you can make the most money or some money anyway. Most PBS Stations either show AYBS? now or have in the past. More people in the US thus more Fans of AYBS? to buy the DVD's.

Go to Amazon.CA (Canada) and look up their Britcoms. Sometimes they have stuff we don't have down here but it's all the same region.

i can get region 1 dvds and play them, but they are different dvds. In the uk they are released by season, but i understand foreign dvds to be released by volumns from within a collection?

eg volume 4 will have say 10 episodes, partly season 3 and partly season 4, whereas they are released on full season here.

i think im mamking sense, but maybe not!

In Australia, they're released by Season as well.

I would have liked them to be released as Seasons here. Don't care for the mishmash of some of one season on a disc and another season finishing the disc off.

I don't know why the US and Australia got the releases first...probably because both countries now have larger fan bases than the UK.
