At one of the other forums I belong to, there is a thread currently running about "What is the worst TV show you have ever seen?" One poster listed, among others, Beanes of Boston, saying "I consider those brain cells lost forever", adding "Awful, one and all." Maybe we're lucky we've never seen it?

The original post is at http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showpost.php?p=4102613&postcount=112

Now I'm confused ... Did "BOB" ever air or didn't it ? I've heard both now.

I've read on the 'Net (in a Usenet newsgroup) that the rejected pilot aired on CBS in (I think) 1979. The poster I referred to insisted that all the shows he listed did air.

I thought it aired once but wasn't sure.

Thanks for clearing that up Miss Emily !

I thought that Garry Marshall mentioned Beane's of Boston somewhere in his memoirs. But I have my library's copy of said memoirs in front of me now: there's no entry for it in the index.

In any case, according to Vincent Terrace's Encyclopedia of Television Series, Plots, and Specials, Beane's did air on May 5, 1979.
