Can anyone tell me the name (and number) of the episode in which Mrs. Slocombe demonstrates that she can sell shoes? Her poor back gets so crooked that she resorts to using the elevator to straighten her spine. I've searched and searched and can't locate it.

It's the episode which has the first appearance of Mr. Grossman...that would be Is It Catching, Season 8 Epsiode 1...I think. Someone verify, please? :)

Right the first time, Minki!
Both Mr. Grossman and Mr. Spooner first appear in Is it catching.
And that is the episode that Mrs. Slocombe shows her shoe selling prowess.

Wow, I can't even remember half of the episode names, lol.
But yes that wasn't a horrible episode, just a really bad one. I didn't really find much of the material to be funny and the quality seemed a little down.

The shoe selling was hilarious dazz! And what they got fed for supper before being locked in the basement.

I now skip over the shoe-selling scene. It goes too slowly for me. Since I've seen it about 5,678 times, I am fine with skipping over it. The rest of "Is It Catching" always cracks me up. Harman's evil grin as he shuts the door and locks the staff in is PRICELESS. He's finally given the staff their cummuppance...serving them CURRY and PRUNES was the final cruel icing on the cake, considering their outfits, and all of them being in ONE bed, in one room together.

Yes, if anyone crammed my feet into too small shoes like she did to shirley i'd have to bonk them on the top of the head! And the part where she finally uses the shoe box lids to slide over the floor....

"Horrible" is in the eyes of the beholder. :D I never said I didn't like the Mollie scene. I said I was just (currently) bored with it and skip it. I want to get that part over, and get to all of what I think is very funny about the ep.

But I have to admit, this episode was golden compared to the one it follows!

I like it when Slocombe is bent over and shuffles up to the elevator and straightens herself up. :lol2:

Why thank you Mr. Lucas. :hat: (since there isn't a curtsey emoticon I'll have to make do with the hat.)

Anyone notice Mr. Grossman having a heck of a time keeping from laughing when Mrs. Slocombe does the "shoe bit"? Poor guy! :)
