....called "The Challenge." He played the landlord in this 1960 crime flick.
Plot Summary for
The Challenge (1960)
Billie and Kristy lead a gang of armed robbers who steal from banks, armoured cars, and the like. When Billie's lover, Jim, gets caught by the police after stashing a large amount of money, they wait for him to get out of jail. He does and has to deal with both the police and his ex-gang as they both need him to get what they want. Things become more complicated when Kristy kidnaps Jim's son and threatens to kill him if Jim doesn't come up with the buried loot.
Might be interesting to try to find this movie just to see what a "young" Arthur Brough looked like! :D

Certainly would, I am always interested in seeing our staff in other movies/television shows. Unfortunately, the only one I believe I've seen was Trevor Bannister in "Keeping Up Appearances". However, this film with Arthur Brough sure sounds fascinating.

There's a picture of Brough in the "AYBS? Bible" from the war. Wasn't a bad looking chap in his time.

I may have said this before, but he's VERY much like my great-grandfather. Reminds me very much of him. Especially in that war pic.

Alfie Bass appears in Help (Beatles) as well as Alfie (Michael Caine). He actually has a decent supporting roll in Alfie near the end in the sanatrium (sp) where Michael Caines goes to rest to recover from TB.

Not to be confused with the 1968 film of the same name starring Bob Wagner.
