When watching AYBS? on DVD I was always skipping the ending credits.
Then I noticed that sometimes the producers slipped in a little tidbit....
For Example:
In Our Figures are slipping....
Rumbold has admonished Lucas to smile more....then at the end of the
show Miss Brahms asks Lucas if he still fancies "the unsatified virgin"(movie)
upon overhearing this Rumbold says, I must practice that smile myself and
proceeds to put a goofy smile on....
Here's the payoff....during the credits when it comes to Rumbold he
is still practicing the smile...
Same epi and maybe more the telling.
Lucas sells Mr. Grace, Mr. Graces own Vicuna coat. in the credits
When it gets to Mr. Grace, he is discovering a paper he had left in
his coat, in his "new" coat.... I smirked really hard when I saw that
for the first time...Now THAT'S British humor!!
Have you noticed these or any others in the ending credits?

My young son is always anxious to see the next episode and I always make him wait till the credits are done. I tell him we haven't seen it all yet. He'll catch on someday. :D

I have always loved the ending credits but I took them for granted until I got my DVD's. Now, I enjoy them as much as the whole show. And of course I can look at them more closely. Wendy always does her little "sexy vamp" thing.

That little wiggle thingy?
Its really cool to see how she grows as the epis go by... The first ones
she is almost stiff, later she is much more animated.

The one eppy, Wendy just has a totally blank stare into the camera when her credit roles. Kinda creepy....
Another one, and it's too early in the morning for me foggy brain to think of the eppy, as the credits end, you can hear the audience laughing. It's "Goodbye Mr. Grainger" !!!! There I remembered it....

There are a couple eps in which the audience is applauding as each character is shown in the end credits.

A little quiz!
At the end of Forward Mr. Grainger, the staff are shown with
glasses and drinking....mostly anyway.
How many actually drink and how many either just wave the glass around
or don't try to drink at all?
name names and whether they drink or not.

Slocombe - Holding up glass
Brahms - Holding glass
Rumbold - Pushing lift button
Peacock - Holding glass
Grainger - Toasting then drinking
Humphries - Dabs it behind ears
Lucas - Chugging, swishing
Harman - Slugging from bottle
YMG - Holding glass then appears to take a drink of it

Great job Greg....did you notice Isabella Rye (Rumbold's Secretary), appears
to take a sip but MAY only put the glass to her lips...its hard to tell.
What do you think?

If I recall correctly from the "Celebrating Mollie Sugden" special, the group often went out to the pub after shooting an episode to celebrate. So I don't think a glass of alcohol would really be unnatural. :D

Lucas
Well, you assume wrongly (i.e. That I just found the end credits.) I'm not sure which is more insulting, that you think that I am dumb enough to miss them at the end of an episode or to be chided by someone who is so ________ (fill in your own adjective(s)) to think that. Tsk Tsk.
I've watched them many times before, It wasn't that I was noticing the E.C. for the first time, what I noticed was that NO ONE was saying anything about them! ...When looking for specific things in the epis(i.e. dialog, songs, bloopers, etc). Spending time on the end credits is time you could be watching another epi. Now, I'll be watching for stuff in the E.C. as well.

Boys, boys... I leave you two alone for a night and it's Helter Skelter. I want you two to go to your rooms and think about what you did !!!! :verymad:

I actually have to do the unthinkable... put the DVD in for this one. It looks as though she's only putting it to her lips and not taking a drink.

One of the things I always try to figure out is "When they did the mug-shot for the credits?".
I could understand if they all posed for the credits after the performance was over, but sometimes they appear in costumes that they were wearing at some other time during the show, OR (as in Fire Practice) in a strange location such as Mrs. Slocombe at the top of the emergency chute.
In "Anything You Can Do" there is one scene where you see Warrick and the un-named Indian worker "mugging" in the background for the end credits when Mrs. Slocombe walks by and the camera sweeps them (whoops!). They instantly straighten up and slip back into character :D
In another one (can't remember the eppy) you see Mr. Rumbold mugging in the background as well.

I seriously don't remember the freaky Wendy look in "Coffee Morning". Perhaps that's because I rarely watch the episode. I will have to check that out. What is E.C. by the way? I'm sure it was already explained and I missed it.

E.C. is "Ending Credits"
One of the things I always try to figure out is "When they did the mug-shot for the credits?".
It looks as though in the first few Seasons, the cast did it after the show was done, you know, just struck a pose while the credits rolled. But as the years go by, it's almost like the director said "Where do you want you're EC to be taken from. With the show doing so well after the years went by, they could probably afford to do that between takes.

I always loved the ending credits, too. I always thought Arthur English made the best use of props. He was always doing something silly. You rarely see him just standing around during the credits.
My least favorite closing credit sequence is "Oh What A Tangled Web." It looks like they were all just posing for a group picture.
