for the techie minded out there.

right, this morning I had my oven on-electric, fan assisted, 3 years old-when it suddenly went BANG! with a horrid grating sound.

Now, I wonder if it's just the element that's gone-or would I be dicing with death by replacing it? I am not a qualified electrician-y'don't say, but I am fairly good with d.i.y. etc.

Sounds like something went kablewy with the fan. The fan was on correct ??? Elements usually (99.99% of the time) make NO noise when going, they just don't work anymore but a rotating fan will make Hellish racket when going to poo. Let us know how things turn out !!!
