I loved all their scenes together. I think John and Fleur had a great chemistry. Not romanticly of course :)

I was wonder if anyone has read an interivew with John or Fleur when they talk about eachother?? I'd like to know what they thought of eachother and their scenes

I read yesterday somewhere, I can't remember where I found it, that Fleur is a BIG fan of AYBS and watched it when she was a kid so she was pretty excited to work with them all, especially John or something like that

I have to admit that it does get old at times. There's at least one episode where she makes so many comments that it is actually annoying.


Back to Mr. Humphries and Mavis...I don't remember which interview it was, but I seem to remember a John Inman interview in which he says that the writers of AYBSA were planning for Mavis and him to marry in the next season, but that season was never filmed.

I'm sure the episode would have been of the type where they were pretending to marry or that it was just a temporary arrangement to avoid some other occurance.

I can't image Mr. Humphries truly turning Mavis' way romantically.

Maybe Humphries would have to dress up as a bride to marry some illegal immagrant to keep him in the country after Miss Brahms chickens out or something? I could see that story line!

Don't forget Mr. Humphries almost married Mrs. Slocombe just because he didn't want to upset her in "Lost and Found"; I can imagine something similar happening in G&F. I think I saw the interview you mentioned, Red Shadow; it was Mollie Sugden or John Inman telling about it, and whoever it was even mentioned that Mavis was going to leave him at the altar, which in turn caused Mrs. Slocombe to take the oppotunity to "pounce" on him while he was still on the rebound.

But seriously, Mr. Humphries would have had to change who he was to marry Mavis -- and I don't think changing who you are is right to get married. And I don't think a husband of Mr. Humphries age would have been a good match for Mavis, as I always saw her as being a good mother to a large family. The match would just seem unfavorable to both of them. But I hope happiness to both!

I, too, always saw the age gap as an issue. Mr. Humphries seemed more like an older friend-of-the family type in relation to Mavis. Someone who cared about her welfare and was fond of her, but definitely not romantically inclined.

HA HA, lol. But when it comes down to it, Mr Humphries always shy's away from men propositioning him in the show. Although he's flamboyant, he seems rather discreet when it comes to hooking up etc. So I imagine that if he indeed were 100% gay he would have to approach Bruce secretly, and not kiss and tell.
However, it would be fun to see Hyacinth try to cover up a family scandal such as that.
