Hi, I have a question. I remember seeing a clip of John in drag....as usual :D with a blue wig...I think and he's being hoisted up by the others. I thought it was the last episode, but apparently it wasn't. Anyone know which episode I'm talking about??
I'm new here, btw :saludando:

I have all the seasons downloaded and I was just smiking through episodes from the last season and I I saw the thibg I was asking about. I think i also saw people in a control room, but it wasn't from The pop star. I think they where talking to the camera

Didn't "they" (maybe Lucas on one side and Peacock on his other) lift John up the stairs at the end of one ep and he was in drag? I haven't watched the show in ages but somehow that just sticks in my head.

The more I dwell on this, the more I think it was Mrs. Slocombe being hoisted up the steps, and not John. Hmmmm!! :?

No, it was John. I'm 100 % sure on that

Sounds like the ballet scene in "Strong Stuff This Insurance" to me. I think John wore a blue tunic-and-tights ensemble in that one.

What season???
Oh, I just looked up that episode on youtube. I don't think it's that episode because I think the bit I'm talking about is in the end of the episode

In Memories Are Made of These, Mr. Humphries and Mr. Spooner pick up Mrs. Slocombe and run her off the floor. I can't quite place the eppy you are talking about though. What about the one when they went to the cinema to watch their commercial being played and Mr. Humphries dressed up as his mother?
sanna_o75
06-14-2008, 05:25 PM
No, I'm quite sure there's also spotlights pointed at him. And no, not Mrs Humphries :D
Maybe I have dreamt it :-(
But I'm very sure I haven't! :-)
is there not an episode towards the end when there's some guys talking to the camera in a control room.I'm sure I saw that

Greg...think ending scenes of AYBS? with (either Mrs. Slocombe or) Mr. H. (I know he/she is looking for Mr. H. but the mind can play tricks) being picked up under the armpits and led up the stairs to the lifts? I do seem to have a scene like this in my memory but I can't place it. The poster says this is what she means. Re-read the thread and maybe something will jingle for you.

Hehe, I'm a she :D
And it IS John they pick up. I think it was only a bit more than a week ago that I saw it. When they ahve him picked up he's smiling and blinking with his eyelashes, which are pretty long. And I think they sing too
Welcome Sanna_o75
Are you sure it wasn't a clip from 'Funny Turns' If I remember, John had a short sparkly blue wig on and was picked up by two men in a sort of 'I've had the time of my life' pose?

"Funny Turns" isn't an ep of AYBS? It's an extra feature on John Inman's life on the boxed set DVD's. You can watch this here on youtube and let us know if you've finally got your answer! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Funny+turns&search_type=&aq=f

Greg is absolutely right! One of John's panto's!! I love that scene when he's blinking his eyes with those huge eyelashes and then the men let him down gently and "accidently" put their hands on John's bosom!!!

No need to feel "stupid" at all! We're all here to learn things and to share information. None of us here haven't been stumped at one time or another in spite of our long-term relationship with AYBS? Keep asking those questions!!
