Next Tuesday, my PBS station will start airing To The Manor Born. Is this a good Britcom? I've never seen it?

:D Don't worry I think that you will "LOVE IT"

Try to keep up though it is sorta like a soap...

God Luck and please tell me how you like it...{after 3-4 shows}.

I actually like "soap opera" type shows if you can believe it. But I agree, they are hard to keep up with. This one sure sounds interesting!

I love To The Manor Born, I love it on it's own, but also because I love Penelope Keith and even more so Peter Bowles.

On the subject of Bowles, I'm trying NOT to buy The Irish R.M., because I'm skint lol

I have finally blown the dust off of my TTMB DVD set and I love it !!!! I got half way in the Third Season and I must say that this is a funny show. I can't believe that it's taken me so long to check this little gem out. Tonight I will finish Season Three then watch the "Extras DVD".

When shows (British BBC type) started showing up on DVD, TTMB was
the one I thought of first. 2 thumbs up!

I watched the whole thing and I loved it !! I won't give anything away in case someone hasn't seen it but I was very happy with the end. Just wished it would have lasted a bit longer. Can't ever get enough of a good thing !!!

To The Manor Born finished up last night. All that's left is the 1979 Christmas Special.

I really loved this show. I'm going to miss it.

If you recorded it then you have it forever. The DVD set gives you the radio shows they did for Radio 2.

That's just the problem, I didn't record it because I didn't know if I would like it.

No, I'm recording As Time Goes By. I didn't record To The Manor Born because I'd never seen it before and didn't know if I would like it.

I'm going to tape the last eppy on Saturday and the Christmas eppy on Tuesday.

Sorry for the confusion, Greg

I just saw this for the first time about a month ago. I really enjoyed the series.
On the one hand, it was nice to see a series that didn't just "end", but had an actual resolution/ending to it, but on the other hand the 3rd season felt rushed near the end, and I wish the series had lasted longer.

My favorite was Mrs. Pou and her "There is an old saying in Czechoslovakia!"

My DVD catalogs are selling a brand new eppy of TTMB from 2007.

The plot, they are celebrating their 25th anniversary, but things don't go according to plan.
It's called, To The Manor Born : 25th Anniversary Special.

It was last years Christmas special and it was pretty good. After all these years, they haven't missed a beat.

Has anyone else seen this show? It finished airing on the PBS station here several months back and I thought it was pretty good. It took a couple of episodes, but I soon began to enjoy it and I loved the chemistry between Audrey fforbes-Hamilton (Penelope Keith) and Peter Bowles (Richard DeVere).

It has been on our PBS station several times over the years and I must say I thought it was merely okay. Never really ranked it in my top 5 british comedies list, but it is miles ahead of Two's Company.

It took and eppy or two for it to warm me up but I do like this show. I think I watched it in hopes of Peter punching Audrey in the face.
