Waiting For God is to air on my local PBS station starting Saturday night. I used to enjoy watching it from KRMA Denver several years ago. Crusty Diana Trent and the wigged out Tom Ballard make for a strange pair, but the show is really very funny.

Dear Sonosun
It is about time that Channel 8 plays WFG., MR. Bean, and Chef again...
Lucas :D
And start playing AYBS? also.

My PBS station used to be 56, but has been 67 for awhile now.
They hardly ever show ABYS? or KUA anymore. Always bringing in new shows.

Think of Baines as Idiot Baines. Feel for Tom as he daydreams of being Sir Edmund Hillary and climbing Mt Everest just as you do every afternoon and you'll soon begin to like it.

I've seen this show a few times but I didn't really care for it. I laughed a little at some scenes but it just didn't cut out for me. :(

This is another one I recently watched...but only the first series, so far since that's all that is on DVD at the moment. According to Amazon.com, series 2 will be released here on June 12, 2007.
I think it would be worth a rent (for me,) at least. Diana is so old and crochety that you can't help but be amused by her. To me, she's a funny/likeable old grouch in the style of Mr. Grainger, minus his senility.
I remember a few years ago my PBS station showed this program, but I wasn't yet the big fan of Britcoms that I am now. Speaking of my local PBS station, the baskets have cut waaaaayyy down on Britcoms. It used to be an hour on Monday, on Tuesday and on Saturday nights, plus for a while I think there was something on Sundays when they moved things around. Saturdays were generally an hour of KUA followed by a Mystery program, (which I have tried to get into but they're just not my thing. I even tried Hetty Wainthrop, thinking if anyone could keep me interested in a mystery it would be the talented Patricia Routledge, but my brain just shuts it all out.)
Now they're down to 1 hour on mondays (1 AYBS eppy and 1 KUA eppy,) and 1 hour on Saturdays (As Time Goes By,) Plus the mystery programs are still there. I like As Time Goes By, but I wish they'd go back to the old way and show some other shows in rotation like they used to. I guess they thought showing Monty Python on Thursday nights is a subsitute for the hour of britcoms they used to show on Tuesdays. Not for me, it isn't. :( Monty Python just doesn't do it for me, although I used to listen to an album of Monty Python songs constantly back in my teenage years.
