Hmm......not really, the channel has really fell away over the past few years-and it's got a lot worse lately. They've even started showing things like Attenborough's Blue Planet series, which is already showing on one of their other channels, UK Documentary-so it's pretty infuriating. the channel is touted as being classic british drama and sitcoms, NOT documentaries that are being shown elsewhere.
Another thing with them, the used to show Doctor Who from the earliest (1963) to the last from 1989, but now they only go back to the ones from the 70s, and they skip stories.
Methinks the Beeb are skinflints! Rant over :x

Sounds like BBCAmerica over the last few years. They had a great mix of shows...then they started dropping the good Britcoms...then went EastEnders bye-bye on no notice...then they went DIY happy (I swear, every other time I turned the channel on, it was either showing Changing Rooms or House Invaders)...then they started airing very weird shows that I don't even think people in the UK have heard of...then they canned the British announcer for Faking it and replaced him with an American one. What was the logic of that--did they REALLY think we couldn't understand the British guy?!? :?
It's definitely not the BBCA of 2001 when I first got the channel.
That being said, BBCA does have some good points: Benny Hill 7x/week, Monarch of the Glen is back, so is Jonathan Creek, and I do like the special theme weekends that they run (this weekend is a Benny Hill marathon). And What Not to Wear is always fun.
I would love to see UKTV Gold though. It may be old hat to the natives, but it'd be a new treat to all of us on this side of the pond :)

I haven't even started
Nah, it's just really, really annoying-I have to give a massive amount of money to pay for the package-and I signed up on the strength of two particular channels-UK Gold and Granada Plus-Granada Plus vanished last year, and now Uk Gold is poops.

I don't really care about money myself. It's just that the people who have the things I want always seem to want money for it.:lol2:

This channel really does sound awful, lol. Kind of like my PBS station only worse. OMG, I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth!

  at you both.
I've had a bit of a disaster with my oven (see chit chat) so money is going to be extra tight-I think I'll have to do what W.C.'s mother did, and take in washing. :o

Not a bad idea!
Just think of it as doing something towards Aybs?
Whether that would motivate you or not is not my call, lol!
