One of my best friends (who has NEVER seen an eppy of AYBS) finally agreed to take my set of the 1 - 6 seasons.
It's so funny when she calls me up laughing hysterically about something the cast said or did.
She just finished Christmas Crackers and she stated she almost "peed" from laughing so hard when Mr. Humphries comes out of the elevator dressed as (was it Louis XVI ??) and when Mr. Lucas says, "I see you're not bothering to dress up then, Mr. Humphries."
It's been years since I saw that eppy for the first time - so it must be hilarious to her. It still cracks me up!

I'm going to try and convert some more friends....They don't know what their missing!!

Evidently, no one was interested in this thread. Sorry about that :( Although, I can't understand why...
There's nothing more amusing and heartwarming than seeing AYBS being lived though the eyes of someone new for the first time.

:) Yeah, isn't it amazing that there are still people out there who've never seen or even heard of AYBS??
I guess there will always be more people we can convert!

I was simply thrilled when my fiance became an avid fan of AYBS? It kept us together every evening for months and months.:)
On the last day of term I managed to get one of my teachers to put on a DVD of AYBS? I had bought at lunch time - she had never seen AYBS? and I managed to convert her and half of the class - although I did have to translate a few British phrases and let people know that Mrs. Slocombe's pussy was a cat

I did my share of converting but there are so many people out there to "tune in".

Don't get discouraged because people don't see your thread right away. Hang in there and be patient. You take notice that we found it eventually. ;)

Hi Greg,
I was thinking I hit on a topic no one could relate to (how silly of me). :)
Anyhoo, my new (convert) and I did discuss YOU last night. She watched "A change is as good as a rest" eppy and went crazy over Mr. Humphries "wibbly wobblys". I told her about your username and pic on our site and she loved it!
Maybe she'll join up soon!

Also, my friend e-mailed me this morning and in the subject line she wrote: Mechanical Pussies.
Now I wonder what eppy that's from!!

I'm afraid your right about that. It's definitely something people have to digest slowly.

My family gets put off by the british accent. They claim they can't understand what they're saying!

My husband just reckons the humour in it is "stupid" and he doesn't go in for that sort of stuff. He fancies himself as an intellectual.

IMO... I always thought British comedy was a refreshing change from the "in your face" American sitcoms. Don't get me wrong, I still like our American shows like for instance, Two and a Half Men. Talk about raunchy!!!!! OMG!!
I guess I just really enjoy the cheeky fun and political incorrectness of AYBS....and it takes a huge amount of intelligence and talent to write scripts that are incredibly funny and even more to act them out the way our lovable TV family at Grace Brothers do... :)

 Nope froggie. He prefers watching Current Affairs shows and documentaries, and stuff like that. I'm the comedy buff in our household.
Ah, the dredded Anna Coren and Tracy Grimshaw steal another away from comedy - I hate it when that happens
