Jeremy Lloyd once worked at Selfridge's Department Store and used that experience when writing for Are You Being Served?
He also named the character Miss Belfridge after the store.

I don't know why I paid attention but they have 13 restaurants and two bars. Lucas noticed the restaurants serve alcohol. I wouldn't wonder that Mrs Slocombe would like working there.

Ha that's cool and love that they close at 6:25 p.m. on Sundays...don't want to pay the workers the overtime by staying open until 6:30!

I wouldn't be sorprised if the last Bus leaves at 6:30 PM.:)
