Has anyone seen the show Kingdom with Stephen Fry. It just started airing on our Rhode Island, MA PBS station two weeks ago. Stephen is delightful as solicitor Peter Kingdom! In Saturday night's episode, I saw the actor who played Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave. He played the headmaster of Cambridge University (Peter's alma mater).

There are always three or four different plots going on so the show never gets boring. .........FYI: Saturday nights @ 9:00pm PBS The show has been given a third season but I can't order the DVD's because of the Region factor.
Looks like I'll have to go out and buy one of those Multi-region DVD players!! It's definitely worth it!!

I know I've posted this before but it's good advice because region-free DVD players can be pricey :) But if you have a free drive bay in your computer, get a second DVD drive--it only has to be able to read disks so you don't need to spend the extra money on a DVD write drive. Set that DVD drive to region 2/3/4/whatever and you're set.

The reason I say to get a second drive is because you can only change the region number of a DVD drive so many times (usually 5)--after that you can't change it anymore.

Hi Minki! I'll be getting my laptop soon and I was thinking of leaving it on the Region I need to watch my UK DVD's. I figured I could watch my American DVD's on my TV and my UK DVD's on my laptop. This way I don't have to worry about switching it back.
My only question is if I keep it in that UK region - will I still be able to listen to my CD's on my laptop.....or is that something totally different???
Thank you!!

You SHOULD be able to, since audio CDs are regionless. I listen to UK CDs all the time on my CD player.

My PBS showed Season One out of order so I didn't know what was going on. That's why I got the DVD. Now my PBS is showing Season Two but I won't watch it because they'll screw it up and show it out of order again! Waiting for Season Two on DVD!

It really is a great show....only Madam Beryl gets PBS from RI.... In NE Massachusetts we only get PBS out of Boston and NH. Have seen two episodes with Madam Beryl and Stephen is fantastic in this role. Wish I could see more of it!
