One possible reason we think that some users' posts have disappeared is that may have never been posted in the first place.

At the end of the Post Reply screen, you will see two buttons: Preview and Submit.

Preview shows you what your post will look like before you post it. You will have a chance to make changes and preview the post again. Hitting Preview DOES NOT publish your message.

Submit will publish your post.

You'll know you're successful if you see a post when you see a message saying "Your message has been entered successfully." If you do not see this message, your post wasn't published.

The staff including myself have been tripped up on this, thinking we've posted when in fact we've only hit Preview. And at first glance, it's kind of deceptive.

Hee...ok.....true confessions time.....even your "great and powerful Board Administrator(s)" have done this as well. :D

To posters: Just be sure to check the board for your post after you've posted it. If you do not see it, and if you see no "Administrator" (that'd be Minki or ME..) or "Moderators" (Greg or Sonosun) on the board (check "who's online" at the bottom of the main page to see if we are here) you can assume a board glitch or your own glitch. We do not remove posts unless they are offensive in nature. ~~Tiddles

I also delete duplicates/double-posts: if two posts from the same person are identical, probably the result of hitting Submit more than once, I keep the later post.

Also, if we do remove anyone's posts, we will tell the author why by Private Message (our preferred way) or in the thread in which the post was removed.
