Yes, this comedy is hilarious. I'm waiting for series 4 to arrive in the post.

I recommend this classic to any AYBS? fan, you'll love the humour. It's written by Jimmy Perry & David Croft.

It follows the adventures of the Royal Artillery Concert Party who are posted in India during WW2. That would be fine, but they find themselves under the command of the bullying Sgt Major 'SHUT UP' Williams, played by the great Windsor Davies.

Great performance from the late Michael Bates as well, blacked up as Rangi Ram :lol:

Brilliant cast all round, wonderful comedy :D

I was in England in 1975 and my Nana and I stayed with relatives for 6 weeks. I remember that everything came to a hault when this show came on. It was a favorite, I guess. I don't remember too much about it. But I was only 15 and had other things on my mind. Like a crush on my gorgeous 3rd cousin. :D
