Why? What would be the point of that? An AYBS? Again series without Mollie, or John or Wendy or Frank or Billy? They could write all they want.... but I'd never watch it. If you meant to say that you wished they HAD written more shows "back then" I think they had some scripts in the works but as is being discussed in another thread the ratings were not that good and the BBC said "no more".

According to John Inman, it didn't really have anything to do with ratings. An executive in charge of shows said he didn't like it, so he canceled it.

Pretty rotten reason if you ask me. One man got to decide the show's fate? That's just wrong.

There will be probably 100 different view points on what actually happened from 100 different people involved with the show. John had his insights, Wendy put hers in her book. We'll never really know for sure what killed off the show. It'll never come back, and we have our precious DVDs to keep us all happy! That's all that matters to me at this point. I mean if some MIRACLE happend that united Mollie, Frank, Trevor and Wendy in ANOTHER sitcom....I would watch. But never...no NEVER would I watch another AYBS? series without John Inman. John WAS the whole show in many ways. Mollie comes up second.

Exactly my thoughts as well, what's AYBS? without John Inman and Mollie Sudgen. Rubbish, that's what.

Rach, you hit the nail on the head. Considering the age, health and missing stars, it is rather pointless.

I've heard somewhere that they had a script for a third series of Grace and Favour. I wonder if it's still around. Ah well, if it is it is probably like the Austrilian series tapes- unseen by the human eye.

I think it would be cool in this day of CGI, if someone could do further adventures of GAF or AYBS?. Find someone to do that and so it well and I'd watch it !!!

Or feature the offspring of the staff, who thanks the cosmic forces of nature all ended up working on the same floor of the same store without realizing how they're all connected.

And Please Bring a Half of Million, with you. {As that should get about 2 hours of TV show produce... and maybe more}.

As in this way the BBC, will not be out of any money and then they might pick-up the show.

Ps. Please talk to Mr. Croft & Mr. Lloyd first.

Lucas :lucas01:

And HURRY-UP !

I also love the idea Minki. What about Mr. humphries though ? No chance of him having any offspring.

Not necessarily...
Let's say that to make some extra money while at University, Mr. Humphries made a donation or two at certain "banks" :) He wouldn't be the first college student to have done it.

And it does open up a world of possibilities: Mr. H could have that son (or daughter!) and still be neither one way or the other. And the offspring could either be a little Humprhies clone(ette), or be so drastically different from him that it's a shock when we find out in the series that they are related.

Have him be so butch that you'd never guess it till the end of the Season or have Humphries offspring be straight and Lucas's son be gay and "Humphriefied".

LOL, just catching up on threads and this one cracked me up. It reminds me how much I wish someone would do something similar with "Keeping Up Appearances." I read somewhere that Patricia Routledge wouldn't ever consider reprising Hyacinth, but I think it would be funny if Richard and Hyacinth moved to the country, and Sheridan and Tarquin moved in as the new resident snobby neighbors. But then again, as with AYBS stars who have passed on making any remake seem pointless, I can't see anything KUA without the...er, popular, Rose. (That would be Rose#2, the late Mary Millar.)

I must say, the idea of the AYBS offspring had me ROFL...since the only people on AYBS I can recall having kids were the canteen manageress (whose 2 year olf needed to go to the potty,) and possibly old Grainger (who got the girl in Haberdashery "into trouble".)
There would be more "oops, I didn't know I had a baby" children running around than on "All My Children".

I love the idea of a butch Humphries jr. and a flamboyant Lucas jr...I say that the surprise Slocombe jr. would have to be from Mr. Moulterd. (Not Mavis, of course.) Maurice Moulterd jr, anyone?

And then, Mr. Spooner can swoop in, having revealed that his pop stardom caused Miss Belfridge to suddenly become interested in him, and they married and had 10 little Spooners, but later she also left him for Mr. Prentice (sp?), formerly of of tools and DIY.

I realize this is a very old thread, but what if...

Wilburforce had a love child with the lady "behind the bandstand at 5:30 to 'pitch a little woo'" and then had a second child after he and Mavis 'turned over the same way' on some warm spring night?

The two offspring, one male and one female of the opposite sex (to be clear), later met not knowing their common origins... and being of different ages by 10 or 15 years...

...I'll let your imaginations run with that for a while!:truelove:
