Most Haunted

Definetly NOT a British comedy ... but definetly British. I started watching this show about a year ago and I enjoy it immensely :D

Basically, there's a team of paranormal investigators that travel to different parts of both England and Ireland, investigating locations that are believed to be haunted. They take along cameras and special gadgets to track these ghosts and whatnot. The results are sometimes THRILLING (and some episodes are a let-down).

Anyone else ever watch this show? I know that in Canada, it's broadcast on the Women's Television Network Friday nights at 8:00pm. Sadly, this series is only available on DVD in the UK I think. Haven't seen it on Amazon.ca or .com yet.

Me too but would you spend the night in one?!! Most Haunted had an episode where they went to a place called Woodchester Mansion which is near me and it is soooooo creepy that place! It's in the middle of the woods! I went one Halloween night and it is just far too creepy!! Some of my friends wouldnt even get out of the car! There is ALWAYS this weird fog around and because its all in the sticks its dead quite. Giving me the shivers just thinking about it!!!

Yes I would love to spend a night in a haunted house. One house I lived in about 12 years ago was haunted. A local woman told me after all this weird stuff was going on that a man hung himself in the back room.
I used to be really big into Ouija boards.

Really not sure if I'd have the courage to spend the night in spooky old house on haunted hill! My imagination would go wild. And I'm sure somehow a cat would manage to jump out at me!

When I worked in a store years ago we had weird stuff happening, things would disappear and you'd find them in bizarre places and you'd hear people walking about and things jumped off the shelves.

I used to live opposite a grave yard which was cool.

9pm for Most Haunted and 10pm for Ghost Towns. Except for tomorrow, Ghost Towns airs at 8pm. There will be two episodes of Most Haunted at 9 and 10pm.

Derek is not well known over here, except from the "MH" fans. I don't think he's ever come over here.
I miss him not being on "MH" but that Ciarian (the parapsycolgist) was one of the reasons that MH dumped Derek. I got to find that link......

In all honesty, I like Derek. I really believe that he has ability, he just likes to get theatric when things get boring. I also thing that he was prodded a bit from the MH team to "liven" things up. I also was a little aprehensive when I went to Derek's site to sign up and he has the British version of "The Psychic Network". That right there screams "Bogus money maker" to me !!!! I believe in psychics but not over the phone crap for 3.99 a minute !!!

I really like David Wells too. The one person I think that MH needs to get off the air is Karl Beattie. He's the one whom with ever show feels someone poking him or being pushed. 2 weeks ago on the "Portsmouth" show, he acted like he was being taken over by an angry spirit. The show was going great up till that point. MH did a slidding glass - Ouija board type thing that was fasinating !!!! Then comes in Karl to ruin the whole mood.....

Yeah David Wells is good, too. He took Derek's place for a while when Derek left.

As for Karl, he won't leave because he's Yvette's husband and owns MH and MH Live with Yvette. Their production company is Antrix.

David Wells explained Karl channeling once. He said the spirits tend to pick on non-psychic persons. That's happened to Karl numerous times. It's also happened to John Dibley. Remember I told you that a spirit beat up Stuart when the visited the Anicent Ram INN's Mayflower Barn. That's why he gets scared when he's alone because he knows they CAN hurt you. Derek always said they can't hurt you, well they can if their angry enough.

Hope you got to see last night's MH. It was awesome!! Dalston Hall is creepy. That's the first time a television cured my hicupps.

GAME WITH THE FEAR FACTOR

GHOSTLY goings-on are in store for a South Tyneside couple as their spooky new game hits the shelves.

To help Andrew and Nadine Farrow launch their latest product - Yvette Fielding's Ghosts - the TV presenter it's named after put in an appearance.
Mr and Mrs Farrow, who own Orchid Games Studio in Beach Road, South Shields, attracted the interest of Antix Productions, owned by Ms Fielding, as they developed the board game last year.
Mr Farrow, 34, said: "They thought it was a fantastic idea and everyone was on board."
Ms Fielding, co-presenter, with Derek Acorah, of Living TV's Most Haunted, can often be seen spooked in the programme as a paranormal investigator tries to make contact with spirts. Sites visited by the show's ghost-hunters include Whitburn's Souter Lighthouse where, legend has it, an old lighthouse keeper roams the corridors at night
Mr Farrow, of Tynedale Road, South Shields, said that Ms Fielding and her producer husband Karl Beattie were eager to get involved in the game's production, giving advice on equipment to use.
He added: "You can either take the role of one of the paranormal investigators or one of the ghosts.
"You also get to use the equipment that they use, like a night vision camera and thermal imager, and you have 24 chances, which represent 24 hours of the investigation."
The company is already looking at developing future editions of the game, including a special Halloween version set in Souter Lighthouse and possibly a DVD too. It has also attracted interest from America, Australia and Europe.
Mrs Farrow, 30, added: "With the subject matter, some may see it as having an adult theme, but we believe this is a fun family game whether you believe in the paranormal or not.
"We had to phone Yvette and Karl for information on the kit they use and they were only too happy to advise us."
The game allows players to take on the role of Ms Fielding and her crew as they are sent to investigate ghostly goings-on in a haunted house.
Ms Fielding said: "The game calls for plenty of strategic thinking to outwit the opposition.
"I have had direct experience of inexplicable sounds and visions while filming. However, I also have a healthy sceptical side, which has been developed.
"I'll always look for a logical explanation first, such as checking for open windows in particularly cold areas.
"I have become a lot braver, although I'm still a wimp when it comes to horror films."
n Yvette Fielding's Ghosts is available to buy, priced ?29.99, from next week.

There, there, Greg. MH is still a fun and entertaining show, but since you like the ghostly things you may want to check out Sci Fi channel's Ghost Hunters. They set out to debunk hauntings so when they do get evidence (including apparitions and poltergeist activity) on film, you know it's paranormal. Check it out. I have NEVER believed psychics before, but Derek is different. I just feel he's real.

Also, The Travel Channel has changed MHs air time. Starting June 30th, MH will air @ 10PM. They are going to run past episodes of last year until August 18th, then they will continue airing the epsiodes for 2006.

The Travel Channel started late in showing MH, so they're airing MH in order. This week, however, they will be showing past episodes until August 18th then they'll continue airing the rest.

Remember that starting tonight MH moves to 10 PM!

The only thing I know is that the people that subscribed to his "email updates" on his site got a letter stating that "LivingTV no longer requires his services."

And you're right, Greg. Richard added some level of credibility. I just wonder if it's tied in with the whole "Bad Phsychics" dust-up. I had read Richard said he would leave if he found out any part of the show was faked, but if he was let go, I guess that wouldn't be the case.

The "Ghost Hunters" episode from the prison kept me up. However, the one that really bothered me was the lighthouse. I found it disturbing that the apparition interacted with them.

Move over Jack Sparrow! After braving the most terrifying location of all, Transylvania, the Most Haunted team are back in the UK and heading for the West Country to reveal the ghostly pirates of its hidden past. Yvette Fielding, and psychic David Wells, along with the regular Most Haunted crew are testing their nerves as they head this time to Bristol in a sensational 3-night special event, transmitting live and exclusive on LIVING.

As a central part of the slavery and tobacco trade the area around the harbour and the shipping routes into Bristol once made this place a hive of pirate activity. According to legend, pirates were known to be very superstitious and often placed curses on their enemies.

Perhaps most well known to the area of Bristol is the renowned British pirate Blackbeard who, is said to have been born there. The team will delve deep into the history of the area uncovering its hidden secrets and ghostly past.

Here's how the LIVEs work, there's two, of course. One at the beginning of the new season and the second at the end. Since you said Season 9 ended Tuesday, the new MHL will air in May to finish Season 9 completely.

Friday, June 1, at 8 p.m. ET!


For the first time in the show's history, the 'Most Haunted' paranormal investigation team will bring their hit special, 'Most Haunted Live,' to the U.S. for a live investigation from the Eastern State Penitentiary. Widely regarded as one of America's most haunted places, the prison is located in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Travel Channel will broadcast an unprecedented seven straight hours live on Friday, June 1, from 8 p.m. through Saturday, June 2, at 3 a.m. ET as presenter Yvette Fielding, spiritual medium David Wells, and the rest of the 'Most Haunted Live' team conduct their investigation.

Armed with night-vision cameras, thermal-imaging devices and other paranormal investigation tools, the team will perform a thorough investigation of the prison and attempt communication with the paranormal. The team will have extensive access to the prison, including areas that are not currently open to the public.

The 'Most Haunted Live' U.S. experience will be extended online with multiple Webcams streaming live images from select areas within the prison. Users will be able to actively participate in the broadcast by posting paranormal sightings, well wishes for the team, suggestions on rooms to investigate, and predictions and premonitions on the boards, through text messaging and FAXing psychic art. Selected user-submitted content will be presented during the interactive segments of the event, as well as scroll across the bottom of the screen during the live investigation. A downloadable 'Ghost Detector' application will also be available for mobile phones. It's designed to detect subtle changes in electromagnetic fields, which is believed to indicate paranormal activity.

Yeah, I saw that on Travel Channel website. The Interactive host is a news anchor woman from Philly, Aditi Roy http://travel.discovery.com/tv/most-haunted/bios/gallery/roy_aditi_60.jpg . I didn't see Paul Ross' name mentioned for host. I suppose it will Americanized, because this is a different series. The TV Guide called it Most Haunted LIVE: USA, so it will be different.

Their investigation will lead them into the basement, through secret passageways, and to the mysterious? once a room where Sarah Winchester sought help from spirits to guide her vision to build what is now a 161-room estate. The architecture of the house - doors that lead to steep drop-offs; stairs that lead to ceilings; and a skylight built inside the house ? will add an element of surprise.


TV viewers and users will get the full ‘Most Haunted Live’ experience with multiple Web cams streaming live images from selected areas within the mansion. Users will actively participate in the broadcast by posting paranormal sightings, well wishes for the team, and suggestions on rooms to investigate, predictions and premonitions via message boards, text messaging, and Faxing psychic art. Watched the cams last night a bit and then I popped the "Winchester House" MHL on DVD, finally. Got the first night of MHL in the Wheler Priory so I'll probably watch that tonight.

I tried to watch the webcams last night but can't. My connection is too slow. All I saw was four black squares. :cry:

I have DSL and can't see them on the site. I copy the URL into my Windows Media player and watch them from there.

Acess All Areas was pretty good on the first night. They did the Superfan 07 quiz. Eazy questions and not all of them are about MH.
