I knew it had to be Grainger for the gentsw but becuse of their high heels it's harder to determine the ladies. I know in the Wendy Richard appreciation page they mention that she is 5'5.

That's pretty obvious at the ladies' counter. Although they wear high shoes much of the time (I'd hate to have their feet at the end of the day...especially after those wedgies!) Slocombe was shorter than Brahms. Mr. Grainger seemed short as did Goldberg, Klein and Grossman. Then again we're seeing these men next to the very tall Peacock and Rumbold a good bit of the time. YMG seemed to be not of very tall stature as well. Coupled with his frailty, he appeared short, but could have been taller as a younger man. This thread will have to concede to speculation only.
Shortest of the short has to be Miss Bakewell. Young Mister Grace was quite nuts over her. :P

According to iMDB, heights are as follows (no idea how reliable iMDB is though), and I couldn't find heights listed for everyone. Names in bold are the shortest in their respective departments.:-
Ladies Department
Mrs Slocombe:- 5'3"
Miss Brahms:- 5'6"
Gents Department
Mr Grainger:- 5'2"
Mr Humphries:- 5'7"
Mr Lucas:- 5'11.5"

Ronnie Brody would have to be the shortest in the kitchen...

Didn't he claim to be 6'2" in Grace & Favour when he compared himself to Ramone Navaro?
