We discussed this previously on the old board. Does anyone own this game, and if so, what's it like? I see this on EBAY every once in a while, and it looks like cool little board game.

Here's the Wibster with his game !!!! Won it off of E-Bay for 60 bucks !!!! Opened it and looked and drooled but never played it. I'm afraid that I'll lay it out on the floor and one of my cats will get sick on it.

Wow! Greg, at $60 I certainly don't blame you for not playing it!! I sold toys in an upscale department store back in the 70s and I never saw this game! Good find!!

(Helpful hint: We play our board games on the table)

Perhaps if Greg had a longer one, tripod that is, he'd be a bit happier. Can you imagine having to set the timer then run around and squat down and then take up a pose?

* crocheted beret's. ....Took me a while to get THAT one!!! 8)

You need to get the game out and video yourself playing it so we all get a feel for the game Wib. If I had the money I would love to get on for myself.

Sounds like a cool idea JH but I'm afraid my cats will crawl all over it and ruin it. Either that or the dog (which weighs in at 110 pounds) will flop on it !!!

It does seem a shame to have the game and not play it. Can you give us an idea at least of how it is played?

Is there no chance of shutting yourself and two or three others in a room without the animals?

Maybe we could devise our own AYBS trivia game... :)

Mmmm. It really would take just one clever person good with art to make up the pieces and then all that's needed would be to..."borrow" the instructions from the original game. :D How to mass produce it, though? We'd need about 100 of them at least. Just to cover the demand of posters here alone. :P :D

sonosun
08-09-2006, 01:55 PM
Mass Producing is simple enough. You just make some of each thing and then pack the number of needed seperate bits in a box. Tiddles it's sort of like cooking on a line. You put your food on the plate and then the next guy puts his and usually that's it and the plate goes in the window.

Tiddles
08-09-2006, 04:49 PM
By mass production I meant the actual manufacturing/copying of the orginal game pieces. Someone could use a computer to design the board pieces and board as they appear in the original game but you need some sort of factory for that, I'd think. Unless someone was really ambitious. Anyone have a rich uncle who works for Milton Bradley?? :D

Dean
08-09-2006, 09:50 PM
It wouldn't necessarily have to be like the "original" board game - actually it would be more fun to start from scratch anyway.

I see it as sort of a Trivial Pursuit of AYBS though we could add in aspects of other games - Monopoly scenarioes where you can buy Gracfe Bros outfits or canteen meals? A "Get Stuck In the Lift" card rather than "Go to Jail"? Or a physical aspect - "to advance six spaces you must do the German dance"....

Just off the top of my head....

Greg WibblyWobbly
08-10-2006, 02:49 AM
I scanned and printed a piece of the clothing from the game for a guy who came on my site and asked for it. He got the game but one of the pieces were missing so I supplied him with the missing piece. Doing the pieces wouldn't be that hard but finding someone who's good at Java or HTML would be the next step for playing the game online.

I'll take pictures of this for you guys this weekend or sooner so you can get the gist of the game.
