:?: Got a forum question?
I have one:
Is HTML useable on the forum when the box for HTML allowed is properly checked/unchecked and showing as ON?
I've never been able to use it on the board. What HTML tags are useable? What am I doing wrong?
I even used ( and then tried again with them omitted ) the <html> and </html> tags to open and close the section.

Dear Vicar if your have checked do not allow HTML in your profile ,as I did for some unknown reason, it won't work in your posts. Also you won't see certain things on the board like most of Greg's Wallies . The <HTML> and </HTML> tags aren't necessary. BBcode makes it all work. Or something like that. BBcode is nice for people that really don't use code.

Dear Me.....I've made sure everything was in the proper order and kept checking to be sure it was ON but it just never worked it seemed.
I even tried to make sure the post only used one style....either BBCode OR HTML, not both.....same disappointing result.
I swear I tried everything.
Here goes.....let me try it RIGHT NOW and see what happens:

Well as long as this topic is here, let me ask another....then you can hurridly change the topic header to read as "Stupid Questions".
Q: Are the post-counter departments all changed to the same dept at the same specific number? I thought so, then had a suspicion I might be wrong.
To qualify asking this question, I swear I have seen different "department info" for members with the same amount of posts.....and I don't mean Mr. Grace's Moderators ... or Mr. Grace. Perhaps there are other moderators this might pertain to?
Now, remember I may be "suffering from the heat" ~ with no working airconditioning ~ that causes questions such as this to arise. So please continue to be kind. I'm not complaining about the system, ( I think it is great!) just a bit confused!

Somewhere around here I read about titles. I could guess that it's in the Announcements forum. I haven't quite figured them out myself.I'll go see.
I found the titles post in Announcements. It works the same as at the old board except all of your old posts are updated with the new title. I remember Lucas having a strange title, it's because after 100 posts you may request a special title within limits. That's all taken care of in Minki's announcement. :hat:

Thanks again!!!!
(Somehow I missed that part. I did go back and find it. Sorry, I apologize for asking something already detailed in the Announcements.)
I'll be okay now, no the airconditioning isn't fixed....but I just opened the box of Twinkies I bought yesterday after reading the Twinkie question on the board. :dance01:
I appreciate your kind response, sonosun, and quickly too I might add!

And THANKS! :dance01:

Vicar, don't feel bad about the questions you're asking. Heck, my smilies don't move half the time even though they are "on" in my profile! :? (At the moment I'm fortunate to be able to see them moving around.)
And yes, Lucas did give himself a special title. He had graduated to the Toy Dept. and was in charge of toy trains. See, you weren't having heat stroke!

Years back I attempted to sell Pepsi-Cola in the South. The only cold drink I could find was Coca-Cola.

That's all you will find in my house ... that's for sure! :shake:
We used to buy Coca-Cola by the WOODEN case ~ 24 of the 6oz glass bottles ~ back in the 40s and 50s.
Now I buy those 2-liter bottles! :dance01:

Vicar would the possibility of your co-workers at Grace Brothers walking in on you cause you embaressment? Not to worry they'd be worried that Mr Grainger or Mrs Slocombe might be in there. :hat:

oh, whew! I nearly fainted before I got to the second sentence. :P
They call it "co-cola" down here.
Pepsi was invented in North Carolina.
I prefer it over Coke.

:) We just say "Coke".
In fact we will use "Coke" as a noun instead of a proper noun:
"Wanna coke?"
"Yep, sounds good."
"What kind do you want?"
"What kind do you have?"
"Coke, Pepsi, Orange, RC, RootBeer ..."
